THE ROLE
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for anyone interested in
advancing the rights of refugees and vulnerable migrants in Ireland
and Europe.
If you have policy, advocacy and research experience and expertise in
this area and have the skills to develop and lead an effective
influencing strategy that brings about long term change this role may
be for you.
The post holder will take responsibility for leading the development,
implementation and evaluation of Oxfam Ireland?s refugee and
migration influencing work, with a key area of focus on Oxfam?s
European migration programme.
Working closely with the Head of Policy and Advocacy, you will
contribute to the European Migration campaign (EMC) in Oxfam
International through meetings, policy development, supporting the
dissemination of EMC products and engagement on European refugee and
migration policy topics within domestic contexts.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE;
* Third level qualification in relevant subject area;
* Experience of producing research and policy papers;
* Demonstrable track record in the successful delivery of
innovative, multi-channel advocacy;
* Knowledge of EU policies on migration/global displacement and
refugees and experience advocating and campaigning on the same;
* Track record in building networks and influencing with strong
interpersonal and negotiating skills for engagement with a wide
variety of audiences;
* Knowledge of political environment on the island of Ireland and
how it relates to the organisation?s work in terms of development
issues.
