The Daughters of Charity Community Services (DoCCS), located at 9
Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, is a community-based organisation
providing a range of educational, training and social care services
for children, young people and adults living in Dublin’s North Inner
City. Our services are targeted to individuals and families
experiencing socio-economic and educational disadvantage.
The organisation is currently recruiting a Finance Manager to join the
organisation. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Director
of Services and the HR & Corporate Services Manager in the leadership,
development and management of the organisation on the Executive
Leadership Team to ensure the best structures, people and services are
in place to enable the best service possible to participants.
The details of the role are as follows,
FINANCE MANAGER – FULL TIME, 2-YEAR CONTRACT, AFTER WHICH TIME THE
LONGER TERM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE WILL BE REVIEWED.
The Finance Manager reports directly to the Director of Services and
is a key role within the Executive Team.
The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective
financial management of all income and expenditure of the DoCCS and
its constituent service areas. The Finance Manager will lead the
development of the Finance function through a review of processes and
implementation of agreed changes to make the financial processes more
efficient. In addition, the Finance Manager will review the Business
strategy of the organisation with the Director of Services and propose
ways to develop/implement change in line with government and other
funding opportunities. The Finance Manager will work with the Director
of Services and the Board to ensure effective financial governance of
the DoCCS, and to this end, will attend Board meetings to provide the
Board with up-to-date, accurate and regular information on the company
finances. The Finance Manager will work as part of the Executive Team
to support the work of the organisation. As part of the leadership and
management group, the Financial Manager will work with the Director of
Services and Managers to ensure the financial viability and governance
of each service area.
THE FINANCE MANAGER ROLE:
CONTRACT: Full time (**Apply on the website** hours per week), 2 year
contract, after which time the longer term requirements for this role
will be reviewed.

be set commensurate with skills and experience
ANNUAL LEAVE: The annual leave for the position is **Apply on the
website** days, with an additional 2 service days at times set by the
organisation. The organisation is also closed on Good Friday and
Christmas Eve, which is additional leave to annual leave.
HOURS AND LOCATION OF WORK: The working hours are from 9am – 5pm
Monday to Thursday and 9am to 1pm on Friday. The successful candidate
will work from our location at 9 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1.
THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION IS ATTACHED BELOW
* Be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA) with a minimum of 3
years’ experience in a similar role,
* Be solution focused and proactive in their approach to managing
the finances of the organisation in line with best practice in finance
, to include the streamlining of processes, updating of financial
procedures and staff training as required,
* Have excellent working knowledge of SAGE and Excel and an
understanding of SORP accounting,
* Have the ability to manage competing deadlines,
* Have demonstrated ability to work with multiple funding streams
* Be committed to the vision and mission of DoCCS
* Have demonstrated experience of change management
* Have strong analytical and technical skills,
* Be an excellent communicator,
* Proven track record of delivering projects,
* Have strong financial controls ethos,
* Have experience of working as part of a team and of leading a
* Have financial management experience, preferably in the
not-for-profit sector, would be a distinct advantage.
