Headway: Rehabilitation Officer
JOB TITLE: REHABILITATION OFFICER

BASED: Dublin ? Head Office in Dublin 7 and Headway services
locations as required (currently: Sandymount, Finglas, Clondalkin)

REPORTING TO: Day Services Manager

HOURS: Full-time (**Apply on the website** hours per week)

CONTRACT: Permanent (subject to probationary period)

SALARY: In line with HSE Care Officer/Social Care scale

COMPETENCIES:

* Relevant qualifications and experience working in the
rehabilitation / disabilities / social care sector.
* Group facilitation experience a strong advantage.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Reliability and a flexible approach essential
* Excellent administrative, organisational and computer skills
* Strong client centred, ethical approach
* Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a
multi-disciplinary team
* Creativity (e.g. in using community resources, problem solving,
dealing with client needs)
* Professional, accountable, good planning and time management
skills

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SERVICE DELIVERY

* Work on behalf of Headway as a member of the Dublin Rehabilitation
Team.
* Contribute to provision of services to clients with ABI, with the
support of Manager and Officers, and receive training and experience
in programme planning, implementation, and evaluation.
* Act as a key worker to specific clients in line with the Headway
service model.
* Facilitate both one to one and group activities with and
participate in the creative development of modules and activities.
* Facilitate and support the work of interdisciplinary teams,
liaising with other professionals and family members regularly to
ensure clients? needs are met.

* Take responsibility for the needs of clients in line with relevant
health and safety legislation and Headway policy/procedure. To
include:

* Take responsibility for the physical care of clients as required
(including assistance with toileting needs).
* Assist with the reception and departure of clients in Day Services
centre.
* Administer first aid if qualified to do so (at a level appropriate
to post holder?s training and ability).
* Maintain a safe and pleasant environment at all times

* Undertake an equitable share of all general duties at the service
locations to support the efficient running of the programmes (e.g.
clearing up before and after activities, tea making etc., and any
other duties that may be required).
* Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

ADMINISTRATION AND POLICY

* Facilitate and support the work of the Rehabilitation Team.
* Keep up to date with all general administration duties as
required.
* Maintain up to date documentation and reports in line with
departmental policies and procedures, keeping Manager updated at all
times.
* Provide statistics and records of work as appropriate.
* Follow and adhere to all Headway policies and procedures.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

* Keep up to date with knowledge of ABI developments.
* ?Undertake any ABI / other training required by Manager.
* Undertake regular Personal Development Reviews.
* Attend meetings / conferences as required by Manager.
* Participate in peer/clinical supervision in line with ongoing
Headway policy and procedure.

SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

* Participate in planning, development and evaluation of services as
required.
* Attend meetings as agreed with Manager.
* Undertake specific projects as required.

AMENDMENT CLAUSE

* Carries out such other duties as may from time to time be
reasonably be required by Manager.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

* General conditions of service are in accordance with those
currently operating within Headway.
