PURPOSE OF POST

HUGG is committed to the development and delivery of peer support
groups for any adult who has been bereaved or affected by suicide,
right across Ireland. All of our HUGG groups are led by those with a
lived experience of suicide.

This goal is in line with the National Office for Suicide
Prevention?s (NOSP) national strategy to reduce suicide in Ireland

We are seeking an individual, with a lived experience of suicide, to
work with HUGG to expand our support groups and manage our volunteer
facilitators. This person will have a hands-on approach and the
capacity to work unsupervised and make decisions.

* The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of the
day-to-day management of HUGG?s Volunteers across Ireland.
* Lead the recruitment, training, management and support of
volunteers
* Ensure the implementation of volunteer policies
* Contribute towards the development of a creative and innovative
strategy that will ensure the volunteer services support the aims,
objectives and values of HUGG.
* Broaden awareness amongst volunteers, community organisations and
professionals through networking, collaboration and imparting best
practice, skills and knowledge.
* Promote services via discussions with the HSE, NOSP, Local
Authorities, Therapists/Counsellors, GP?s and First Responders.
* Communicate regularly with existing Volunteers, attending a
monthly meeting and managing volunteer events, surveys and training.
* Co-facilitate the delivery of a HUGG Facilitation training
programmes.
* Participate in the co-production of suicide bereavement training.
* Plan and coordinate the co-production and co-delivery of suicide
postvention education to specific groups or in specific locations.
* Work under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
* Participate as an Expert by Experience in Suicide Bereavement
initiatives.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS

_ESSENTIAL:_

The successful candidate must demonstrate:

* A commitment to suicide bereavement support informed by relevant
lived experience.
* Strong and demonstrable experience of group facilitation or
similar engagement processes within an NGO.

_DESIRABLE:_

* Experience of active involvement in the voluntary sector.
* SafeTALK or ASIST training
* Experience in online workshop delivery and administration.

_OTHER REQUIREMENTS_

* Appropriate references.
* Access to transport and ability to travel as required.
* Willingness to train in specific programmes as relevant to the
post

* Demonstrate experience in adult learning and group facilitation
including online.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* To co-produce and co-facilitate the delivery of suicide bereavement
facilitation training both online and in person.
* To participate in and collaborate on the co-production and
co-delivery of grief education modules, material and training.
* To collaborate with others in the planning and arranging of HUGG
Groups delivery in specific locations in the region and online.
* To maintain all of the HUGG Groups? IT needs as required for the
delivery of support meetings both online and in person.
* To maintain, monitor and store relevant information on
participants in line with current legislation in a CRM system.
* To provide feedback and information to the CEO on all HUGG Group
activity and outcomes as required.
* Support the empowerment of the suicide bereaved and family
members/supporters through their participation in HUGG group
activities.
* To work in accordance with all policy, procedures and guidelines
of HUGG.
* To participate in and provide input into Suicide Bereavement
Improvement committees and initiatives as an Expert by Experience
locally and nationally on occasion and as agreed.
