Associate Sustainability Engineer
My client is the world?s first engineering consultant to be
certified carbon neutral, their mission is to provide a pathway to
net-zero-carbon for all the buildings we design.

Their industry leading sustainability & building physics team is key
to their global business and they need engineers who share this
passion for sustainability design. Collaborating with organisations
like the World and Irish Green Building Council to create a better,
healthier, more sustainable built environment, they now need a
Principal or Associate level Sustainability expert to drive efforts
forward in Ireland.

This role will be to lead the Sustainability & Building Physics
services in Ireland, based out of new office overlooking St
Stephen?s Green in central Dublin. Working closely with UK and
international teams, who have helped define the Net Zero Carbon agenda
globally, there will be a strong emphasis on business development and
industry leadership, supported by the Dublin management team.

_YOU WILL_ be required to quickly assimilate the innovative services
they have developed so that you can use these to promote their
services and wider the capacity in the Irish market.

The wider UK based team will provide interim technical support and
training as the Dublin Sustainability team is being established.

Working closely with colleagues of various disciplines within the
Dublin office, you will design, analyse, report, and document
Sustainability & Building Physics projects, as well as interface with
clients.

_YOU WILL_ work across a variety of sectors and will have the
opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and
autonomy.

_YOU WILL_ be responsible for client management and project delivery
for:

* Building physics and parametric model services

* Building performance and operational energy optimisation

* Certification and compliance

* Health and wellbeing advice and guidance

* Net zero and whole life carbon services

* Sustainability design and ESG services

Educated to degree/Masters level (or equivalent) in Engineering or the
Built Environment, you will have gained relevant practical experience
in a similar role.

_YOU WILL_ have demonstrable knowledge and experience of
sustainability and building physics, particularly in relation to
thermal comfort, natural ventilation, compliance modelling and real
operational energy assessments. You should ideally also have a good
understanding of the Irish construction industry.

Knowledge of the following areas of expertise would be beneficial:

* dynamic simulation software

* mechanical design

* EED, NZEB, Building Regulations

* Planning issues

* climate based daylighting analysis

* operational energy calculation and life cycle carbon costing

* LEED, BREEAM and WELL Standards.

Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role,
excellent communication skills, an understanding of financial and
resource management, and experience of using your initiative to
overcome challenges are essential.
