WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SAFEGUARDING OFFICER TO JOIN THE BRANCH &
VOLUNTEER SERVICES TEAM?IN?IRELAND. YOU WILL BE PROVIDING EXPERT
ADVICE, GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT?TO VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF, IN RELATION TO
SAFEGUARDING BY APPLYING POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND BEST PRACTICE,
INCLUDING BRANCH VOLUNTEERS AND THE SAFEGUARDING HUB VOLUNTEERS.?

?WE ARE A FUN, FRIENDLY AND SUPPORTIVE TEAM WHOSE FOCUS IS ON
DELIVERING EXCELLENCE TO OUR CALLERS AND VOLUNTEERS. THE TEAM SITS
WITHIN THE OPERATIONS DIRECTORATE AND IS SPLIT INTO SAFEGUARDING AND
CALLER SUPPORT, QUALITY AND SERVICE IMPROVEMENT AND VOLUNTEER
SERVICES. BETWEEN US AND THE SENIOR VOLUNTEERS THAT WORK ALONGSIDE US

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:?

* Provides expert support and guidance regarding safeguarding
policies, procedures and best practice to volunteers in relation to
callers with complex needs and safeguarding issues?
* Supporting the wider safeguarding team to ensure that safe and
effective decisions are made in relation to safeguarding callers of
concern?
* Contributing to the promotion of a mature safeguarding culture
within Samaritans?
* Supports the provision of guidance and support to branches
involved in serious safeguarding incidents ensuring key volunteers and
staff are regularly updated?

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:?

* Good understanding and recent experience of applying safeguarding
legislation and processes within Ireland?
* Understand the needs of a wide range of
vulnerable?callers;?specifically children and adults at risk?
* Experience of working with and managing support for individuals in
distress or with complex emotional/mental health needs.?
* Extensive case management experience?
* Service user-focused?
* Able to communicate well at all levels and deal with conflict in a
constructive manner?
* Leads confidently on own projects and areas of work?
