MEMBER ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING IRELAND

Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national organisation
representing, promoting and developing co-operative housing in
Ireland. Since our foundation in **Apply on the website** we have
provided over 5,**Apply on the website** homes through homeownership,
shared ownership and social rented co-operatives. As an Approved
Housing Body (AHB), we work with various stakeholders in the housing
sector, including Local Authorities, Government, aspiring homeowners,
tenants and developers. We currently manage over 3,**Apply on the
website** homes across Ireland as well as providing a network of
childcare services in our communities.

1. ROLE

CHI is seeking a ?Member Engagement Officer? to join our Member
Engagement Team on a full-time, permanent basis from the 4th of
January **Apply on the website**.

The successful candidate will work with the Member Engagement Manager
to promote the co-operative ethos and principles amongst the
membership, general public and provide support to the Organisation?s
housing co-operatives.

The role will be mobile in nature, requiring regular travel around
CHI?s community housing developments across the country and include
occasional evening and weekend work. The role will have an
administrative base in our Limerick Regional Office, Unit 8, LEDP,
Roxboro Road, Limerick, when needed.

2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Member Engagement Officer will have excellent communications
skills and interact with Members (Tenants) and colleagues in a
friendly, empathic manner at all times. Additionally, the post-holder
will be passionate about CHI?s purpose and will continuously act in
the best interests of the organisation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

* Support Members and Housing Officers in the establishment and
coordination of residents? committees across the country.
* Support Housing Officers to ensure that community events are
delivered in all local areas.
* Work with the Member Engagement Manger in the development and
implementation of a Member Engagement Strategy.
* Help identify new training needs for Members, as well as
coordinate the training that is already planned.
* Provide ideas, support and advice to Members when co-ordinating
Member events.
* Seek out funding for engagement work in partnership with Members.
* Work with the Policy & Communications Team to inform Members and
the wider community of CHI?s work.
* Support the Member Engagement Manager to keep CHI staff and
Members up to date with events and achievements that have taken place
or will take place within the CHI network.
* Work with staff and Members to improve CHI?s Member induction
process.
* Work with the Member Engagement Manager to develop and implement
Member surveys bi-annually.
* Support and attend local co-operative meetings when needed.
* Additional, relevant duties as required by the Organisation.

3. REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

* Knowledge of the Housing/Social Housing sector.
* Relevant voluntary or paid work experience.
* Full, clean driving licence and access to own car.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
* Ability to work independently using own initiative.
* Strong listening, written and verbal communications skills.
* Good administrative and organisational skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Strong I.T. skills.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of Approved Housing Bodies, Co-operative Housing and/or
the Charity, Not-For-Profit sector.
* A third-level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g.
Community Development, Community Leadership, Co-operative Development
etc.).

SALARY
Competitive salary commensurate with an applicant?s qualifications
and experience.

PENSION
Co-operative Housing Ireland offers a defined contribution pension
scheme. Employees have access to the scheme on successful completion
of their six-month probationary period.

TRAVEL & SUBSISTENCE
Travel and subsistence will be paid at CHI rates.

ANNUAL LEAVE

public holidays), plus an additional 3 Privilege days per year.

E-WORKING ALLOWANCE
Electronic Working Allowance is paid daily for remote working during

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Continuous professional development opportunities and relevant
training/education courses are supported by the Organisation.
