CONTEXT:
GP Care For All is an organisation focussed on delivering high quality
healthcare in areas of deprivation. It currently has a practice in
Summerhill Dublin 1 with over **Apply on the website** patients. It
plans to open a further practice in **Apply on the website**. It is
seeking to hire a practice manager who will work in Summerhill but who
may also take on the practice manager role in the new practice should
it open.
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide leadership and management to enable the Practice to meet
its agreed aims and objectives within an efficient, safe, and
effective working environment, maintaining a happy and committed team.
Main areas of responsibility include operational systems, staffing
levels / rosters, finance, communication systems and day to day
running of clinics
STAFFING OVERVIEW:
Ensure the smooth running of the surgeries through adequate staffing
levels, including co-ordinating the administrative staff, nursing
staff and doctors? roster, annual leave and time away from the
Practice. To ensure there is a consistent and continual level of cover
during absences. Take responsibility for staff inductions, ongoing
personal development plans and staff appraisals where appropriate.
Liaise with:
* HSE ? PCRS, HBS, and CHO
* Voluntary agencies
* Social Services
* Other State Services
* Hospitals and secondary care providers
* Local practices
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,

* Knowledge of current medical terminology in order to communicate
with physicians, staff, and patients.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as professional
journals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
procedure manuals, and government regulations.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure
manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from various stakeholders and the general public.
* Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people, both
on a one-on-one basis and in meetings and group presentations; must be
able to relate to and work with ill, emotionally upset, and sometimes
hostile people.
* Ability to anticipate and react calmly to emergency situations.
* Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and
draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to make independent decisions and delegate responsibility
and duties.
* Ability to follow direction.
* Ability to think logically in order to troubleshoot, analyse
situations, and make appropriate decisions.
* Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of
Microsoft Office Suite, GP Appointment Software, e-mail systems, and
web based programs.
