ABOUT THE RISE FOUNDATION:

The RISE Foundation is a registered charity governed by a voluntary
board of directors and founded by Senator Frances Black in **Apply on
the website**. The organisation focuses on supporting family members
of those with addictive behaviour (alcohol, drugs, gambling, food or
sex addiction).

At RISE (Recovery In a Safe Environment), we are dedicated to working
towards helping family members to free themselves from the stress,
anxiety and worry of having a loved one with addictive behaviour and
to understand the nature of addiction and the profound effects it has
on relationships.

We?re proud to have supported families with loved ones in addiction

these people?s lives.

HOW WE SUPPORT OUR MEMBERS

The RISE Foundation currently runs non-residential Family Programmes
in Dublin city and occasionally in a number of counties around
Ireland.

The Rise also provide a 1 to 1 Counselling Service in Dublin city with
a team of experienced addiction counsellors. We provide individual and
group counselling services to people adversely affected by a
loved-ones addiction. These services are available to people from all
communities throughout the island of Ireland.

Alongside the above mentioned programmes, the Rise also provides an
aftercare programme designed for participants that have completed our
family support programme to help them continue to work with the Rise
and receive continued support as required.

Moving forward it is our vision to expand the family programme by
offering it nationally throughout the island of Ireland.?The Board of
the Rise Foundation is currently in the process of developing an
exciting 3 year strategy and business plan to move the organisation
forward to the next stage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

POSITION: Development Officer
REPORTS TO: CEO with funding report/dashboard to Board bi-monthly
DIRECT REPORTS: None - Volunteers or marketing graduate as determined
RATE: C. ?2,**Apply on the website** per month*, 6 month consultancy

annum as a part-time FTE, 4 month probationary period
HOURS & FORMAT: Remote, part time (c. **Apply on the website** hrs per

ROLE OVERVIEW

This role is the key senior strategic fund development role within the
organisation. The Development Officer will be primarily responsible
for securing short and long-term funding to support the sustainability
and growth of The Rise Foundations in line with its strategic plan.

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing, overseeing,
and implementing a strategic funding plan to raise funds in a cost-
effective and time-efficient manner. This will allow Rise to sustain
and expand its service offering. The successful candidate will be
responsible for managing the writing and submission of grant
applications and reports, leading the organisation?s annual
fundraising calendar, promoting and running the events in the
calendar, developing a donor database and donor recognition programme.
The Development Officer works collaboratively on grant activities
while stewarding relationships with new and existing donors, and
provides support to the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

_THE FOLLOWING ARE THE KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE
DEVELOPMENT OFFICER:_

Grant Portfolio Development & Management

* Researches funding prospects and options for Rise to secure
sustained funding through grants
* Develop a strategic plan for securing funding and implement this
plan with support from the board/ CEO and the team
* Write and lead the development of proposals and reports while
managing the submission and agreement processes
* Works collaboratively to compile the necessary information for
applications and reports
* Manages the grant proposal and reporting calendars, and tracks
activities in fundraising database and hard-copy filing system
* Works closely with the CEO and CFO to ensure reporting
requirements of grants are fulfilled on time

Donor Relations Management

* Acts as the project lead on all annual giving appeals
* Maintains secure detailed records of all donor (including major
donors) contact, history and moves management; ensures timely and
personal appreciation and recognition is completed
* Develops and manages a "frequent giving program" to encourage
regular donors to provide predictable and stable financial donations
* Develops and enhances promotion and recognition strategy aimed at
individual donors (website, print pieces, email content,
story/pic/video library, frames)
* Develop and manage a donor recognition and stewardship program

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Commercial awareness and business acumen
* Previous experience working in the community and voluntary sector
securing funding will be a distinct advantage
* The ability to think strategically
* Proven capacity to work flexibly and on own initiative
* Experience of working effectively as part of a team
* Administration, organisation, and time management skills

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

* Customer-facing skills
* Exceptional communication and writing skills
* Presentation skills
* Skills in and experience of social media platforms
* Solid computer skills, including MS Office
* Well organised and detailed orientated
* Analytical skills to evaluate marketing campaigns
