_The SAOL project is a community-based programme for women in
treatment for drug addiction and trauma related to poverty, Domestic
Sexual and Gender Based violence, Mental Health and systemic
marginalization. The service works primarily with Women from the North
Inner City of Dublin. __The women who attend our project have arrived
here as a result of psychosocial problems relating to their
experiences and their addiction. __The You Choose programme aims to
create a positive meaningful change in the women?s lives through an
integrated programme of education, rehabilitation, advocacy, childcare
provision, progression and trauma informed supports which addresses
quality of life for the women engaged in the programme. The
project?s ethos is informed by respect for the dignity of each
individual woman, their stories then, now and their future story._

JOB DESCRIPTION: U CHOOSE PROGRAMME FULL TIME (**APPLY ON THE
WEBSITE** HOURS PER WEEK) COORDINATOR.

_The U Choose Coordinator will work closely with Hep C/U Choose
Project Workers to engage participants in a programme which is
evidence based and measurable to address past trauma and emerging
issues related to Drug/Alcohol Addiction, DSGBV/Poverty/Mental Health
and systemic marginalization. The UChoose Coordinator will design and
deliver programmes based on need and emerging needs of the
participants and the female community to meet these needs to create
the circumstances in which women can make active and positive choices
in their lives to address addiction and other issues and to ensure
that participants have real access to quality of life._

_This challenging position demands initiative and energy and will be
fully supported by the existing SAOL teams. The Project uses the
tenets of community development and adult learning techniques to
promote a sense of ownership, participation and involvement of
participants._

U CHOOSE WORKER - MAIN DUTIES:

* To actively engage women in the community in the UChoose programme
and to effectively work with invested partners to ensure the ongoing
engagement of Women in need of UChose and SAOL in the UChoose
Programme.
* To promote SAOL and UChoose in the community and to seek access to
new audiences and new communities of women in need.
* To design, develop and deliver a quality programme which is
responsive to the needs of SAOL UChoose participants.
* To evaluate the effectiveness of psycho
educational/educational/health programmes.
* To engage in case management through key working for Women engaged
in UChoose.
* To effectively coordinate UChoose programme including all
reporting procedures and operational process of Uchoose.
* To engage in Advocacy and person-centred practice based on trauma
informed care and feminist principles.
* To actively contribute to the overall programme of the SAOL
Project and integrate UChoose into the SAOL Programme.
* To actively and assertively engage with Women whom services have
not found a way to engage. To work collaboratively and closely with
the Management Team of Director and Head of Services. The Coordinator
will report to the Director and the Head of Services.

KEY TASKS

* Implement and document the establishment of UChoose Programme for
SAOL participants.
* Contact the previous SAOL participants with a view to discussing
with them their specific support needs at this time.
* Design/Deliver and Develop a daily programme of educational and
pyscho educational session which will address complex needs,
contribute to Women?s quality of life and facilitate Women making
positive choices in their lives.
* Liaise/Network and develop effective relationships with key
invested partners.
* To develop UChoose programme for any person who has used the
services of the SAOL Project.
* To develop services for SAOL participants spanning the continuum
of addiction and recovery from harm reduction to drug free services.
* To accurately record and evaluate all interventions both with
individuals and groups in line with SAOL procedure.
* To carry out assessments on participants current situations using
the common assessment tool in line with case Management process.
* To facilitate key working sessions with ex-participants as
appropriate
* To co-facilitate group meetings with the participants of the SAOL
Project in line with SAOL Project integrated
programme.
* To ensure that one to one work develops alongside individual
participant?s care plans, so that each person?s time with the
UChoose Programme of the SAOL Project is used effectively
* To offer guidance about various aspects of participants welfare
(e.g., Housing, Welfare Rights, Debt Management, Health, Court
Appearances, Social Work and Child Care issues, Drug Stability etc).
* To act as an advocate on behalf of participants both at Micro and
Macro level.
* To liaise with internal supports, advocating on behalf of the
participants where appropriate
* To work with participants on harm reduction and relapse prevention
and quality of life.
* To work through a case management system within a developmental
team setting

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Degree in Social Care/Social Work/Youth Community/Addiction and or
related fields.
* A Minimum of 3 years? experience of working in Community
Development with marginalized communities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience of
creating a safe space for women where they feel comfortable respected
and valued.
* Demonstrated experience of designing, developing and delivering
effective, creative and meaningful group work programmes.
* Knowledge, skills and experience of working within the field of
addictions and particularly in one-to-one work with our client group
* Experience in community development - understanding of social
disadvantage and equality issues, the drug situation in Dublin or
similar and the issues affecting women drug users
* A commitment to working with Women in a trauma informed
feminist-based approach.
* Experience of working with Women and an understanding of the
complex challenges which SAOL participants face.
* Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
* Leadership skills
* Experience of developing and facilitating individual care plans
and case management process including the assessment process and care
plan development.
* The ability and commitment to working
co-operatively/collaboratively and assertively as an equal member of a
dynamic and growing team.
* The ability to act upon one?s own initiative within the context
of professional boundaries and accountability; and the ability to
evaluate the initiatives.
* Ability to manage crisis intervention situations
* Proficiency with reporting and recording systems and good
technological skill/knowledge.
* Knowledge of relevant treatment/rehabilitation services.

The UChoose Coordinator requires a dynamic reflective practitioner who
is a problem solver and willing to work think and practice creatively.
A person who is personally motivated to challenge systemic injustice
and is committed to feminist principles and is working towards micro
and macro change. The ideal candidate should relish challenge and be
prepared to work in an ever-changing responsive landscape.

This work can be very demanding. They will need to be resilient and
not become burdened by the problems they encounter. They should have
the ability to set appropriate boundaries in their work and the
maturity to seek supervision when required. They must be patient and
prepared to work with clients at different stages of recovery.
