Headway: Senior Occupational Therapist
) is currently
seeking to recruit a Senior Grade Occupational Therapist on a
full-time basis to provide support to its Rehabilitation Services for
adults with acquired brain injury (ABI),

The successful candidate will work as a member of the Dublin
Rehabilitation team to develop, manage, and deliver a new Occupational
Therapy service to clients with ABI. Working closely with Psychology,
Community Reintegration, Vocational, Training and Day services, the OT
will play a key role in supporting clients with ABI in the community.

The Senior OT will work with Headway clients to complete a range of
assessments and will collaborate with the wider Rehabilitation Team to
ensure that there are opportunities for clients to access social,
educational, vocational and recreational opportunities.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Plans and organises individual and group caseload to include
assessment/needs identification, support planning and intervention
provision for adults with ABI.
* Contributes to provision of specialist vocational assessment and
community rehabilitation programmes.
* Collaborates closely with Head of Rehabilitation Services and
multi-disciplinary team to develop the Occupational Therapy service
within the Dublin Rehabilitation Team.
* Demonstrates sufficient clinical skills in assessment intervention
and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of the client group.
* Collaborates positively with clients and other stakeholders, in
line with Headway?s values and client-centred approach, working in
partnership with clients to identify and agree goals and interventions
to deliver positive outcomes.
* Ensures all reports, records and technical data are up to date and
provided as required.
* Ensures strict compliance with professional and health & safety
standards.
* Monitors and keeps up to date with developments in occupational
therapy, including attending training and participating in research as
agreed.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* A recognised validated University Degree or Masters, or an
equivalent qualification, in Occupational Therapy.
* CORU registration.
* At least 3 years relevant post qualification experience.
* Post graduate experience of working in a community-based setting.
Experience working with individuals with acquired brain injury a
strong advantage.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Reliability and a flexible approach.
* Excellent administrative, organisational and PC skills.
* Strong client centred, ethical approach.
* The ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a
multi-disciplinary team.
* Strong interest in service development and continuous improvement.
* Creativity (e.g., in using community resources, problem solving,
dealing with client needs).

rehabilitation services for clients with ABI and to establish a new
Occupational Therapy service within the Dublin Rehabilitation Team.

the weekly schedule of supports.

by Senior Psychologists within the team, and external supervision as
required.
* You will be given your own laptop and phone for work purposes.

on daytime office hours Monday to Friday (time in lieu granted for
evening/weekend as required).
* Permanent role with 6-month probationary period. You will be
eligible for the company pension scheme (5% employer contribution) and
Permanent Health Insurance (long-term sick leave insurance cover)
after 1 year service.
