JOB TITLE: Literacy Coordinator

EMPLOYER: The Childhood Development Initiative (CDI)

LOCATION OF POST: Fettercairn, Tallaght West, Dublin **Apply on the

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The Literacy Coordinator will report to the Programme Manager.
S/he will work in collaboration/partnership with CDI staff,
management, School Principals, School Completion Programmes and other
stakeholders where relevant to support the delivery of Doodle Den,
Doodle Families, Doodle STEAM and Dolly Parton?s Imagination
Library.
The Literacy Coordinator will be employed by CDI.

PURPOSE OF THE POST: To support the delivery of CDI?s literacy-based
interventions which are Doodle Den, Doodle Families, Doodle STEAM and
Dolly Parton?s Imagination Library.

CONTRACT: The Contract of Employment is for **Apply on the website**.5
hours per week.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Literacy Coordinator will:

_SUPPORT THE DELIVERY OF CDI?S LITERACY PROGRAMMES BY:_

* Developing strategic partnerships to enable the delivery of CDI?s
literacy programmes across an increased range of areas and need.
* Leading the development and implementation of Doodle STEAM in
conjunction with the Programme Manager.
* Coordinating the effective monitoring and evaluation, budgeting
and dissemination processes for the literacy programmes.
* Identifying and formulating applications for grants and funding
opportunities appropriate to CDI?s literacy activities, and
supporting relevant tender processes in accordance with CDI?s policy
and procedures.
* Coordinating events to promote family literacy.
* Providing coaching/mentoring/training as well as support and
expertise to staff delivering CDI literacy programmes to ensure
fidelity and quality.
* Ensuring high quality delivery of CDI programmes, and supporting
the Literacy Quality Specialists in implementing quality assurance
processes.
* Editing and updating programme manuals and portals to ensure
suitability for use.
* Identifying opportunities to collaborate, share learning and
influence policy within and outside of the organisation, be an active
team member contributing to organisational activities.
* Any other duties as required.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

* Candidates must have a RELEVANT THIRD LEVEL QUALIFICATION e.g.
teaching, adult education, or literacy.
* The successful candidate will be literate in key IT software
including word and excel.
* Three years? experience relevant to the position.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO THE POST.

* Driving Licence and access to vehicle are essential.
