POSITION: Part Time Project Worker

LOCATION: Position will be based in St Brigid?s JNS, Brookfield,
Tallaght, Dublin **Apply on the website**. SCP staff may be required
to work in other schools in the cluster depending on the needs of the
project

HOURS: 2 days per week (**Apply on the website** hour contract)

CONTRACT: Fixed Term Contract.- Term time. Starting date will be
confirmed once the selection process is complete. Initial contract

performance, funding and the overall needs of the project.

SALARY: The salary will be in-line with the CDYSB Youth Work Scale.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Brookfield and Fettercairn School Completion Programme wishes to
recruit for the position of project worker. The School Completion
Programme (SCP) is a targeted programme which aims to increase the
numbers of children and young people staying in primary and post
primary school and in doing so improve the numbers of young people who
successfully complete the Senior Cycle, or equivalent. The primary
focus of the Programme is to work with those who may be at risk of
educational disadvantage through early school leaving

School Completion Programme (SCP) Brookfield and Fettercairn provides
a range of targeted, evidence based, and outcome focused interventions
for children and young people attending the participating schools. Our
service interventions include 1:1 and group supports aimed at
improving students? emotional and social competencies, their
motivation and engagement for school, learning dispositions and
overall educational achievement.

REQUIREMENTS:

* A recognised third level qualification_ _(minimum Level 8 on the
NFQ) in a relevant discipline (i.e., psychology,
education,counseling/psychotherapy, youth work, social care).
* Training in therapeutic or health allied practices (i.e.,
cognitive behavioral therapy, mental health promotion, art or play
therapy, etc.) will be an advantage.
* Minimum of 3 years? experience of working with vulnerable
children and families;
* Experience of providing emotional support to children and/or young
people;
* Experience of working therapeutically with young children is
highly desirable;
* Experience of planning, implementing and reviewing intervention
programmes;
* Group facilitation experience;
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices and approaches
(i.e.,solution focused interaction, motivational interviewing,
cognitive behavioral therapy approaches, conflict resolution methods,
etc.).
* You will have an opportunity to avail of free training in some of
these under staff training and development
* Understanding of Children First guidelines;
* Understanding of outcome focused work;
