Blanchardstown Traveller Development Group: Vacancies (Part-Time) x 2


Blanchardstown Traveller Development Group is a joint initiative
between Traveller and Settled communities living in the Dublin **Apply
on the website** and surrounding areas. The project aims to promote
the welfare and human rights of Travellers and to combat social
exclusion faced by them. The project has evolved over the years and is
currently a well-established resource working from community
development principles.

We are now in a position to pilot a Training, Employment and
Enterprise initiative providing Traveller Specific training in the
area of Healthcare and Home Care & Maintenance. This is a one-year
pilot initiative (fixed term contract) beginning March **Apply on the

funded by the HSE.

We are seeking two part-time positions from individuals who have the
skills and ability to pilot, monitor and evaluate this new initiative.
We are looking to fill these roles with individuals who are motivated
and have a good understanding of Travellers and the
challenges/barriers they face in accessing training, employment and
enterprise opportunities.

COORDINATOR OF TRAVELLER SPECIFIC HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT TRAINING

THE CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

* At least 2 years experience of working with Travellers
* Practical experience in the area of Health Care provision
* Experience of report writing including the ability to manage the
administration and financial requirements effectively including
monthly financial and progress reports.
* Have strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and
manage workloads and meet agreed targets
* The ability to build and maintain relationships including
negotiation skills and conflict resolution
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills with the
ability to lead and manage people/teams
* Flexibility, adaptability and openness to working effectively with
all stakeholders and achieve results through collaborative working
* The ability to support, supervise, develop and empower people to
delivery results
* Ability to make sound decisions with a well?reasoned rationale
and to stand by these
* Good knowledge of relevant voluntary, private and statutory
organisations and a proven ability to network.

TRAINING, ENTERPRISE & EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR

THE CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

* A relevant 3rd level qualification
* At least 2 years experience of working with Travellers
* Experience of sourcing training
* A Learner centred and flexible approach to training and support
* Evidence of practicing and promoting a strong focus on delivering
high quality results
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork and IT skills
* Excellent report writing skills
* A good knowledge of local statutory and voluntary organisations
and experience of networking
* An understanding of community enterprise
* Experience of sourcing funding for new initiatives
* Satisfactory experience of managing people/teams
