ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT (MATERNITY COVER)

JOB OVERVIEW

The Administration Assistant will complete the daily, weekly and
monthly tasks of the Administration team under the supervision and
support of the Project Administrator. The majority of this role
focuses on book keeping duties, filing, processing payments, recording
staff holiday and absence, assisting with payroll tasks and general
office management. The administration team also record and manage
paperwork for the CE staff working in the project. TVG Administration
team also oversee the smooth running of a cr?che and preschool team
of workers and assist with administration duties of this facility as
well. The Administration Team are an experienced and friendly group
who oversee the smooth administration of a **Apply on the website**+
team of community development workers focused on supporting Travellers
in the Cork City area, challenging anti-Traveller racism and
advocating for Traveller rights in Ireland.

PLACE OF WORK

The Administration Assistant will be placed in Cork Traveller
Visibility Group?s Administration office **Apply on the website**
Lower John St., Cork. Depending on COVID-**Apply on the website**
public health guidelines and remote working requirements, the worker
might be asked to work from home when necessary, and might be asked to
do some travel within Ireland to attend trainings and meetings.

CONTRACT/SALARY SCALE

This position is for **Apply on the website** hours per week, the
wages for this position is ?**Apply on the website** per week before
tax (gross). The contract is a fixed-term contract commencing in May
**Apply on the website** and ending at the end of January **Apply on
the website** to cover the maternity leave of our current
Administration Assistant. All TVG contracts are subject to continuous
funding. The contract is subject to a probation period of 3 months

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Keep regular weekly financial accounts on our online system.
* Meet on regular basis with the Treasurer, Administration Team and
CO-Directors to prepare any financial or administrative reports as
required by the Board of the Directors.
* Assist the Project Administrator to complete the payroll and
returns to Collector General fortnightly.
* Complete processing and payment of expenses as required.
* Complete all processing and payment of all bills and invoices on
time and file accordingly.
* Assist the Project Administrator to prepare financial reports,
budgets, projections as required and liaise with all funders of the
Organisation when necessary
* Process any orders for office stationery and equipment
* Purchase equipment in consultation with the Co-Directors of TVG.
* Assist broader TVG team and service users with any administrative
requirements that arise.
* Attend TVG staff meetings on a weekly basis and deliver a
department update with the Project Administrator.
* Network with other Community Development Projects and relevant
partners and funders as required.
* Undergo ongoing training and development as required

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

* Minimum of 3 years? experience working in an office environment
in an administrative role
* Minimum of leaving certificate qualifications
* Fully computer literate particularly experience working with
Microsoft Office programmes and proficient skills in Microsoft Word
and Excel.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* An ability to work on your own initiative.
* An ability to work as part of a diverse and multicultural team.
* A passion for human rights, anti-racism and community development
work.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

* Third level qualification in book-keeping or office administration
* Experience working on cloud-based online accounting systems
* Experience working in a community development project and/or with
diverse multicultural team and service users.
