We?re looking for a Cancer Education Manager to join our team. As
Cancer Education Manager you will be responsible for leading a small
team through the design, development and implementation of an
integrated, multi-channel, education programme to support people
impacted by cancer who use our services, our staff and volunteers and
to help healthcare professionals better understand the impact of a
cancer diagnosis.

WHAT YOU?LL DO

At the Irish Cancer Society, we provide a wide range of supports and
services for people affected by cancer, to reduce this burden of
cancer and improve the quality of life for everyone affected by
cancer.

The role of Cancer Education Manager is to enable the integrated,
person centric delivery of existing education supports and to work
with teams internally and stakeholders externally to further enhance
the capacity of the Society to develop and deliver patient education
and supports for people in Ireland impacted by cancer.

You will work across all levels of education development and delivery:

* Improve and grow the existing curriculum of cancer education
offerings which is delivered across online, face-to-face, and blended
learning environments.
* Working with existing service and content experts, internally and
externally, to improve and develop delivery from an education
experience perspective;
* Design and support the integration of a learning management system
which will support an integrated technology approach to cancer
education capacity development.

EDUCATION PROGRAMME DESIGN

* Work in collaboration with the Director of Services Delivery &
Innovation, the Services Team and other Society staff to develop a
roadmap, approach and implementation plan to address cancer education
needs for people impacted by cancer and for staff, volunteers and
healthcare professionals supporting people impacted by cancer.
* Imagine, design, test, pilot and refine innovative,
evidenced-based programmes across the cancer trajectory which are
integrated with existing offerings for everybody who accesses supports
and services provided by the Society.
* Use human centred design approaches to co-design new education
solutions and experiences to improve, expand and integrate the
services provided by the Society.
* Utilise processes such rapid prototyping, iterative design, or
other practices that focus on streamlining the development processes.
* Facilitate inclusive and accessible educational programs that
promote diverse voices and experiences.

ENHANCING ENGAGEMENT WITH CANCER EDUCATION

* Work effectively with the Society?s Communications and
Information Development teams to design, deliver and monitor the
promotion of cancer education supports to ensure that they reach the
right audience in the right numbers.
* Utilise relationships with key internal and external partners to
ensure that programmes address unmet or under met cancer education
needs and identify champions to support continued promotion and
engagement with key referrers.
* Facilitate an annual cancer conference for people living with or
after cancer using this opportunity to promote and enhance
understanding of cancer education programmes.

LEADERSHIP AND LEARNING

* Enhance a culture of user-centred cancer education programme design
and delivery contributing to an integrated service-user experience
mind-set across the cancer education team, the services team and wider
Society.
* Be a leader in the Services Team, working effectively with peers,
contributing to the overall strategy and team development, and
identifying opportunities and areas for advancement.
* Lead, manage, motivate and inspire your direct reports and the
wider team, ensuring a culture of learning, innovation and development
* Keep up to date on education and engagement trends and continually
bring leading practice and insights to the team and your role.

DATA AND INSIGHTS

* Establish and analyse programme data to assess the impact and
effectiveness of cancer education programmes.
* Make effective use of data and qualitative insight to inform your
decision making and design process.
* Define and operationalise key metrics and measurements to evaluate
and iterate the overall educational experience, ensuring service user
voice is a key component of any evaluation.
* Create reports for internal, organisational and Executive
leadership use that accurately reflect activity and performance,
provide insights and enable continuous improvement.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Significant managerial experience in education programme design in
a healthcare, training, or educational setting. The typical candidate
will have strategic level responsibility with 5+ years? managerial
experience, however the Irish Cancer Society measures experience by
the quality of the experience gained, rather than number of years
worked and welcomes applicants at all stages of their career.
* A third level or professional qualification in Education
Technology, Adult Learning and Education, Instructional Design or
comparable area, or project management, an advantage.
* Experience in the not-for-profit sector, public sector or health
sector (directly or through clients) an advantage, but consideration
will be given to candidates who can demonstrate how their skills can
transfer to cancer education development effectively for our service
needs.
* Demonstrable experience of learning technologies such as /Learning
Management Systems and Captivate and/or experience working with
instructional designers and vendors, with a technical capability in
database use and CRM systems.
* Experience in rapid prototyping, iterative design, or in other
practices that streamline development processes.
