LOCAL TRAINING INITIATIVE (LTI) ASSISTANT CO-ORDINATOR

PLACE OF WORK: Cumann na Daoine, Catherine Street, Youghal, Co. Cork

WORKING HOURS: **Apply on the website** hours per week. The typical
working day is 8.**Apply on the website**am ? 5.**Apply on the
website** pm, but the post holder will be required to work outside
normal working hours (i.e. evenings and weekends) on occasion.

ROLE OUTLINE AND CONTEXT: The position of Assistant LTI Coordinator
involves the delivery and coordination of training on a CETB supported
Local Training Initiative. The position includes assisting the
coordinator where necessary in managing and supporting the
participants on the Local Training Initiative and ensuring
participants receive the required training to acquire accreditation in
two separate streams: Culinary Skills and employability skills and
develop other necessary skills, including personal skills.

THE ACCREDITED MODULES ARE:

Culinary Skills QQI 3

* Nutrition and healthy options
* Bread, Pastry & Desserts
* Culinary Operations

Employability QQI 4

* Work Experience
* Internet Technology
* Customer Service
* Tourism Visitor Care
* Communications

Non accredited Module

* Sugarcraft

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide Training to course participants.
* Assist in the promotion and recruitment of participants for the
programme
* Assist in the provision of on-going support to learners to ensure
they benefit from and successfully complete the programme
* General administrative tasks associated with the design, delivery
and evaluation of modules for the LTI
* Take part in regular meetings with the Coordinator to develop on-
going work plans / schedules to ensure smooth management of the
project
* Assist in the provision of individual support and evaluation to
all course participants
* Liaise with the coordinator in relation to developing a range of
local stakeholders to arrange volunteer work placement opportunities
for learners in the local community
* Coordinate in the development of individual learning plans with
learners and facilitate progression to other forms of training,
education or employment
* Assist in the production and retention of all project records in
accordance with the requirements of the GRETB / QQI
* Assist in the monitoring, recording and reporting of course
participants' attendance to GRETB on a weekly basis
* Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time or as the
programme evolves

PERSON SPECIFICATION

_SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIAL:_

* A third level academic qualification and/or recognised training
qualification and have practical training experience of working with
groups and on a one-to-one situation.
* Working knowledge of QQI modules/certification procedures and
experience of delivery of same
* Be able to evaluate learners progress with regular group and
individual evaluations and develop individual learning plans to
facilitate progression to further training, education and/or
employment
* Experience of report writing including; the ability to plan,
develop and execute training timetables and assist in the
administrational and financial requirements effectively
* Demonstrated capacity to work on your own initiative and as part
of a team
* Excellent computer skills
* Excellent people management and the ability to work with a wide
range of stakeholders
* Be dependable and flexible
