SENIOR TRAINING COORDINATOR

LGBT Ireland is a national charitable organisation which provides
quality support services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender
people and their families and friends. Informed by the issues raised
in the frontline services, the organisation also advocated and
educates for policy and practice change to enhance the lives of LGBT
people across the country.

PURPOSE OF THIS POST:

LGBT Ireland provides a range of education and training programmes to
enhance LGBTI+ awareness, and to support inclusive practice, among
professionals working in public and private sector services. This post
offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate and deliver LGBT
Ireland?s suite of training as well as lead the development of new
programmes in response to emerging issues.

The post holder will be part of a well-established and dynamic
training team which includes a part-time trainer, the LGBT Champions
programme coordinator, and part-time training administrator. The
Senior Trainer will provide leadership to the team including
organising regular meetings to coordinate the delivery of training and
the development of new training initiatives.

STRUCTURE OF THIS POST:

This role is fulltime (**Apply on the website** hours per week) on a
1-year fixed term contract, with possibility of extension, subject to
funding.

The post holder will report directly to the CEO of LGBT Ireland.

THE KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR TRAINING COORDINATOR
WILL INCLUDE:

_Training Coordination, Design, Delivery:_

* Dealing with external requests for training from various
stakeholders and sectors, organising and delivering training workshops
as needed.
* Designing and delivering bespoke training / presentations /
sessions on LGBTI+ issues as requested by external stakeholders, in
line with organisational strategic priorities.
* Innovating new training programmes as needed in line with
organisational advocacy priorities.
* Coordinating the development of a steering group of LGBTI+
training organisations, to develop a national quality assured training
programme and online training hub.
* Presenting on behalf of the organisation at relevant sectoral
conferences, seminars, webinars.
* Participating in relevant conferences and seminars to keep
informed on important new developments and research relevant to LGBT
Ireland?s work.
* Design, delivery of INTERNAL training to trainee helpline
volunteers and peer facilitators and supporting the design and
delivery of the annual volunteer conference and other organisational
conferences.

_Other responsibilities:_

* Production of regular donor / Board reports on training outputs and
outcomes.
* Co-writing funding applications to secure resources for the
training pillar of work
* Engaging in context-mapping, context analysis, scoping exercises,
strategy development as requested.
* articipating constructively in regular team meetings, team events
and processes.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Minimum 5 years? experience of delivering training in adult and
community settings
* Demonstrable experience of using participatory methods
* Experience in designing and adapting training material for a
variety of audiences / settings
* Relevant qualification in adult / community education / training
skills / facilitation skills
* Experience of working in / delivering training in a service which
provides confidential, active non-judgmental listening and emotional
support services (e.g. helplines, online chat services) to vulnerable
people; peer support services; one to one case work services
* Ability to deliver interactive training online
* Ability to research a topic and create a relevant presentation /
training
* Strong communication skills; strong listening skills
* Respectful, non-judgmental, non-confrontational training attitude
* Strong teamwork experience and skills

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

* Strong knowledge of LGBTI+ issues
* Full, clean driving licence
* Knowledge of community / voluntary sector services relevant to
LGBTI+ community
