CHILD AND ADOLESCENT SESSIONAL COUNSELLOR / PSYCHOTHERAPIST -

As part of a new community based youth counselling initiative, the
Dublin City North Youth Support Project seeks expressions of interest
from suitably qualified and experienced Child and Adolescent Sessional
Counsellors / Psychotherapists.

CONTEXT

Dublin City North Youth Support is an interagency collaborative
project between youth service partners (Cabra for Youth, and Sphere

Mental Health Services /Connecting for Life, and Dublin City North
CYPSC/Tusla Child and Family Agency. This is a pilot project funded by
the Community Mental Health Fund, with an expected end date of June

The project has been established in response to needs and gaps
identified by Dublin City North CYPSC, particularly with regard to
localised provision for accessible and timely early intervention
supports for mental wellbeing. This project therefore aims to meet
this need by providing community based youth counselling for young

PROJECT COUNSELLORS

The Steering Group now seeks Expressions of Interest from suitably
qualified Child and Adolescent Counsellors who will deliver sessional
counselling to young people who seek support through the project. Each
young person can avail of up to 9 sessions free of charge with an
allocated Counsellor. A panel of Counsellors will be created for this
project, which will be matched to the needs of young people wishing to
avail of the services on an ongoing basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A recognised and accredited Level 7 qualification (QQI) (Minimum in
Counselling or Psychotherapy)
AND
Demonstrated experience of work with young people in a professional
capacity
OR
Attainment (or pre-attainment) of a recognised and accredited Degree
or Post-Graduate qualification in counselling or psychotherapy
specialising in Child and Adolescent Therapy.

The ideal candidates will also:

* Hold full accredited membership with IACP, IAHIP or equivalent.
* Demonstrate knowledge of Children First requirements and updated
training;
* Demonstrated familiarity with GDPR and the IT capability to manage
appointments, case notes, databases and submit invoices in a timely,
secure and confidential manner.
* Knowledge and familiarity using online video tools as a means to
provide counselling services.

Applicants must show proof of own insurance to provide such services,
and active regular Supervision as per the guidelines of their
Accrediting Body.
