STAFF TRAINING OFFICER

JOB TITLE(S): STAFF TRAINING OFFICER (STO**APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**)

JOB LOCATION(S): Callan Road / Margaretsfield

REPORTING TO: HR Manager

CONTRACT TYPE: 2.5 Year Fixed Term

HOURS: 7.5 hours per day ? 4days per week

ROLE:

* Ensure existing training is maintained in compliance with HIQA
standard and regulations
* Review Medication training and assessment matrix and identify gaps
* Review Staff Training Matrix and conduct training needs analysis
* Schedule training in conjunction with training needs analysis
ensuring compliance in all mandatory training
* Liaise with internal and external training providers
* Liaise with residential managers in relation to changing training
needs within locations
* Maintain training course schedules and bookings on DMS Training
System
* Arrange internal room bookings, training rooms, projectors,
attendance sheets and evaluation forms
* Coordinate the completion and recording of certification of
on-line training modules
* Liaise with external services to facilitate training
* Issue training certificates and file copies of training records on
personnel files
* Maintain electronic training records and training master files
* Issue training reports to all managers on a monthly basis with
relevant location training status
* As a member of the HR Team, work in conjunction to review new
recruit training needs and develop induction programmes
* Submit induction schedules to relevant managers, HR Officer and
new recruits
* Carry out induction programme for new starts
* Identify external training opportunities, design new training
programmes (on line and face to face) and provide relevant training
programmes in line with organisational expertise and funding
requirements
* Work collaboratively and effectively with others (both internally
and externally) in developing strategies, policies and training
programmes within the organisation
* Support the development of an annual internal training plan,
managing training requirements within budget constraints
* Deliver training programmes where required
* Supervise the co-ordination and recording of external and internal
training requests and bookings, ensuring effective and efficient
service provision
* Responsible for the development of the Training Plan
* Execute the Training plan, including timetabling and coordinating
training on new processes ensuring training is delivered on schedule
* Guiding staff through the L&D system using mentoring and coaching
approaches
* Ensure effective planning, review and evaluation processes are in
place to ensure all SOS training programmes meet the learning needs of
those participating in the training
* Identify and evaluate external training providers where required,
ensuring best value for money
* Ensure quality and best standards outlined in the SOS Quality
Assurance Framework are adhered to in relevant aspects of the work
* Collate training data and prepare reports on the work as per
organisational requirements
* Ensure all staff training records and related information are
recorded accurately and appropriately and maintained to a high
standard, as per organisational policy requirements
* Contribute to the overall development of good practice, service
development and learning within the organisation
* Ensure that statutory guidelines, SOS policies, procedures and
corporate plans are fully implemented across all areas of the training
team and associated programmes
* Create PO?s for all external training providers on the PO system
and submit invoices to accounts
* Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by the HR
Manager, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the organisation

* Ability to write clear reports as required
* Ability to translate evidence into practice and specifically
training design
* Ability to manage relationships internally and with external
stakeholders
* Advanced Excel capabilities
* Ability to manage time and prioritise work
* Fully proficient in IT systems including MS Office suite

_EXPERIENCE_

* Experience in a training role is an advantage

_QUALIFICATIONS_

* Relevant professional 3rd level qualification is essential
* Full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured
car essential
