EARLY YEARS MANAGER

Childworld Creche is a purpose built community based childcare service
in Limerick city offering care for children **Apply on the website**
years on a full and sessional basis. The creche is part of Our Lady of
Lourdes Community Services Group which is managed by the group CEO and
governed by a voluntary board of directors. A range of community based
supports are offered to the community including youth activities,
senior provision, adult education, Etc.

The board of Our Lady of Lourdes CSG, now wish to fill the position of
Early Years Manager.

ROLE

The role of the Manager will be to provide the highest standards of
professional leadership and management and will also be responsible
for the day to day running of the creche. The Manager will ensure that
the welfare of children using the service is paramount and that the
needs of children are met.

AS PART OF THIS ROLE THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

* Promote the service by working positively and proactively to engage
with parents/carers using or seeking to use the service.
* Promote high standards of care and education.
* Ensure that the welfare and needs of each child are met at all
times
* Manage the inspection processes within the childcare setting
including liaison with agencies, provision of information and follow
up to ensure compliance with all statutory regulations (TUSLA, HSE,
DES).
* Act as designated liaison person with responsibility for ensuring
that reporting procedures for child protection and welfare concerns
are followed including supporting mandated persons within the setting.
* Manage interactions with funding partners (DCYA, Pobal) including
compliance and other contractual obligations. Work with support
organisations to enhance the quality of provision.
* Manage a team of **Apply on the website** early years?
practitioners. Provide support for childcare staff in their roles,
including identification and coordination of staff training
requirements. Oversee the recruitment of any staff vacancies that may
arise.
* Efficiently manage the resources of the service in a manner that
promotes financial viability without compromising the quality of care
offered.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

* Excellent communication and people management skills
* Strong organisational skills
* Be proficient in the use of technology including computer based
reporting systems (PIP, Hive etc.)
* Possess a sound understanding of financial management in line with
sectoral requirements
* Have a robust knowledge and understanding of the sector and
associated regulatory requirements
* Be committed to supporting children?s rights with a firm
understanding of child welfare and protection
* An understanding of implementing an Aistear based Curriculum.
* The successful candidate will be responsive to the service needs.

Ideally the candidate should have HETAC LEVEL 7 OR HIGHER IN EARLY
CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION and business management experience.
Community childcare experience whilst desirable is not essential.
All candidates will be required to provide two written references
attesting to their suitability for the role which will be verified.
All candidates will be required to undergo Garda Vetting. Police
clearance will be required for any candidate who has resided outside
of the State for more than 6 months.

It is anticipated that the likely date for interviews to be held will
