ROLE SOCIAL PEDAGOGUE / HOUSE PEDAGOGUE (PERMANENT POSITION)

QUALIFICATION: Degree level qualification in Social Pedagogy,
Pedagogy, Social Education, Social Work, Teaching and relevant
experience

DESCRIPTION:

The Galtee Clinic, a private organization offering residential
childcare based in the south of Ireland, is looking for two social
pedagogues or those qualified in a related field for an immediate
start. These individuals will join our team of 8 social pedagogues who
come to work with us from across Europe.

CONDITIONS

Salary is outlined above. You may also qualify for additional bonus
payments throughout the year.

You must have a full clean driving licence that is valid in Ireland,
and be willing to drive in your work. We also recommend you would need
your own vehicle to use outside of work, as public transport is
limited.

You will have a standard **Apply on the website** hours annual leave
package per annum, plus Bank Holidays (rota dependant).

Your working pattern will be: 8 days working in house, 6 days out of
house, 8 days in house and 6 days out of house ? this **Apply on the
website** day cycle is repeated. Within these **Apply on the website**
days, you would work **Apply on the website** days (8 days x 2 in the
home).

This is a working pattern that meets children and young people, staff
and organisational needs. Flexibility is essential due to work pattern
changes.

The day to day routine depends largely on the children and their
needs. Your work is supported by other staff e.g. activity therapists,
who are on-site typically 9am to **Apply on the website**pm, and
responsible for the young person during that time.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Degree level qualification in Social Pedagogy, Pedagogy, Social
Education, Social Work, Teaching and relevant experience
* Excellent English
* Experience working with children and young people with challenging
behaviour?in a residential home or foster setting desirable
* Passion for delivering best practice to children and young people
in care
* Able to be a positive role model
* Adaptability and flexibility, creativity and initiative
* Willingness and ability to live in for part of the time
* Willingness and apply social pedagogic principals and ways of
working
* Empathy and awareness
* Able to manage resources, staff and facilities on site
* Have a fun, easy-going and approachable manner
