ROLE: AIM TEAM LEADER (BETTER START: ACCESS AND INCLUSION MODEL - AIM)

SERVICE: Better Start: National Early Years’ Quality Development

REPORTING TO: Better Start National Team Leader

ROLE PURPOSE/ SUMMARY

BETTER START: NATIONAL EARLY YEARS QUALITY DEVELOPMENT was established
in **Apply on the website** to co-ordinate the work of existing State
funded supports for quality in early years settings and to manage a
specialist support service which will work with early years settings
to promote and develop the quality of practice, as set out in core
elements of the national practice guidance contained in Síolta, the
National Quality Framework, and Aistear, the Early Childhood
Curriculum Framework. This new initiative is a key element of a wider
national quality development agenda for early years services.  The
primary role of the Quality Development service will involve early
years specialists working in partnership with individual early years
settings to develop and enhance their capacity to provide high
quality, inclusive early education and care experiences for children
and families.

Team Leaders are responsible for directing and quality assuring the
operational and day-to-day work of Better Start: National Early Years
Quality Development – Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) programme. 
Key responsibilities include: people management; service development,
caseload management and reporting, and networking.  The Team Leader
will provide a key leadership role and will directly assist and
support the National Manager in establishing, developing and
delivering Better Start programmes and activities, as outlined in
funder Programme Delivery Agreements.
