THE BRIDGE PROJECT IS SEEKING TO RECRUIT A PART-TIME (**APPLY ON THE
WEBSITE**HRS A WEEK) PEER SUPPORT WORKER.

The Bridge Project is a community based organisation located in
Francis Street, Dublin 8. The project works with adult males with a
history of violent offending. The core aim of our programme is to
address as many systemic barriers to employment for our clients by
offering a wide range of education, training, skills based courses and
employment opportunities. In conjunction with these courses, we also
address the causal factors for their offending behaviour through the
use of evidence based, targeted intervention programmes. The desired
outcome of this combined approach is to create active citizens who
have the capacity to contribute positively to their communities.

Bridge facilitates a Change Works programme targeting adult males with
a history of violent offending. Change Works is part of the
multi-agency initiative, J-ARC. The Joint Agency Response to Crime
approach involves working collaborative with the Probation Service,
the Irish Prison Service and An Garda S?ochana for the greater good
of our mutual clients and communities.

The successful candidate will be joining an organisation that is

implementing sustainable employment and social enterprise
opportunities.

This Peer Support Role is a 1 year fixed term contract. The successful
candidate will work alongside the Education and Training Officer to
deliver programmes to clients

Bridge receives its core funding from the Probation Service and the
City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB).

THE ROLE

_The successful candidate will:_

* Work closely with the Training and Education Co-ordinator to run a
number of our programmes
* Assist new participants to settle into the programmes by
completing inductions and settling in chats
* Facilitate a weekly Peer Support Group
* Accurately record all client interactions and events on our client
management system
* Providing reports on client activity and progress to the Education
and Training Co-ordinator
* Role model pro-social behaviour
* Work with each client to overcome their barriers to securing
employment
* Complete six weekly practice supervision sessions
* Attend and participate in staff training sessions
* Adhere to our internal policies and procedures and in line with
our overall vision
* Reporting directly to the Executive Manager of the project

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* QQI Level 5 in Social Studies, Facilitation skills or any other
relevant field desirable
* Lived personal experience of the criminal justice system
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Good organisational skills
* High level of motivation to contribute to the overall vision and
work ethos of Bridge
