POSITION TITLE: MENTAL HEALTH PROMOTION MANAGER

REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE (DUN LAOGHAIRE, CO. DUBLIN)

Mental Health Ireland (MHI) is a national voluntary organisation with
a network of Mental Health Associations (MHAs) active throughout the
country. Mental Health Ireland aims to promote positive mental health
through education, training and awareness raising and to support
persons who experience mental health difficulties, their families and
significant others through the activities of Mental Health
Associations? and national advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY

Ireland?s National Mental Health Policy, _Sharing the Vision _places
a special emphasis on the promotion of positive mental health. MHI
aims to be the lead national agency in promoting positive mental
health and wellbeing. This is a key objective in our national strategy
?_Empowerment from Ideas to Action **Apply on the website**?_.

The Mental Health Promotion Manager will play a central role in
developing, leading and managing how MHI will meet this objective.
They will ensure the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing
extends across the whole community. This includes those difficult to
reach and at-risk cohorts with a special focus on improving the global
health status of people with significant mental health challenges.

THE PERSON

The person we are looking for will have a passion for mental health
promotion, strong management and leadership skills, experience in
strategic planning, innovation and development with specific skills in
areas including mental health promotion, staff development, project
initiation and management, training, change management and population
health.

They will also have experience in research and evaluation and be
capable of planning and co-ordinating mental health promotion
programmes with policy makers, academics, thought leaders and
international peers and be able to translate best practice and new
emerging evidence into robust initiatives that can be mobilised and
utilised by community members in Ireland.
