COMMUNICATIONS AND EVENTS OFFICER

BACKGROUND:

AHEAD is an independent non-profit organisation working to create
inclusive environments in education and employment for people with
disabilities. The main focus of its work is further education and
training, higher education and graduate employment.

AHEAD provides information to students and graduates with
disabilities, teachers, guidance counsellors and parents on disability
issues in education. It undertakes national research relating to the
inclusion of students with disabilities, contributes to national
policy forums and provide professional development opportunities to
develop the capacity of staff in FET and higher education to be more
inclusive.

AHEAD is now recruiting a COMMUNICATIONS AND EVENTS OFFICER to join
its team.

THE ROLE:

The Communications and Events Officer will oversee and deliver the
communications function in AHEAD across the Employment and Education
teams and will be responsible for developing and delivering a
communications strategy to include social media, email communication,
press and public relations.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in the
administration and organisation of AHEAD Education Team events and
will support, where required, the running of events by the Employment
Team. Additionally, they will manage and grow the membership of AHEAD,
evaluating member satisfaction and working with the team to ensure
membership benefits are attractive and applied consistently across
AHEAD?s offerings.

This role would suit somebody with proven experience managing large
scale events such as conferences and designing and delivering clear
and easy to read/understand content including email marketing, social
media posts, newsletters and press releases.

The successful candidate will be adaptable and comfortable working on
their own initiative, however, a strong ?team player? ethic and a
willingness to support colleagues during busy periods are required.
