ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT (PAYROLL AND PROJECT REPORTING)

Early Childhood Ireland, the leading membership organisation in the
early years sector in Ireland, wishes to appoint an ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
WITH RESPONSIBILITY PRIMARILY FOR PAYROLL AND PROJECT REPORTING.

JOB PURPOSE

Early Childhood Ireland is the leading membership organisation in the

early childhood settings. THE PURPOSE OF THIS POST IS TO WORK WITH THE
FINANCE TEAM TO OVERSEE THE SUSTAINABLE FUNDING AND FINANCIAL
MANAGEMENT TO ENABLE EARLY CHILDHOOD IRELAND TO DELIVER ITS
OBJECTIVES. The successful candidate will be an active member of the
Finance Team primarily responsible for payroll and project reporting,
while assisting with the financial and account controls and standards
to ensure timely financial and statistical reports for management and
Board use.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

To perform all tasks listed below to a highly professional standard:

_MANAGING ALL ASPECTS OF PAYROLL FOR APPROXIMATELY **APPLY ON THE
WEBSITE** EMPLOYEES ON A MONTHLY BASIS:_

* Accurate and efficient processing of monthly payroll in accordance
with revenue, taxation and internal policy guidelines
* Dealing with all aspects of the payroll process, BIK, pension and
other voluntary and statutory deductions
* Liaising with staff and managers on payroll adjustments
* Processing adjustments to payroll
* Issuing employment contracts
* Processing new and leaving employees
* Creation and transmission of bank files for payment
* Responding to internal staff queries
* Updating of information on payroll master records
* Preparation and submission of PAYE, and other relevant taxation
returns
* Preparation and submission of CSO quarterly returns
* Interfacing with relevant authorities (i.e., Workplace Relations,
CSO and ROS.)
* Preparation and review of monthly payroll reports and metrics
* Reconciling payroll accounts and reviewing output reports
* Preparation of control sheets, reporting and reconciliations
* Preparation of year end audit file and liaising with external
auditors on matters relating to payroll
* Auditing of payroll information to ensure accuracy and compliance
with tax guidelines
* Payroll projects as required.

_PROJECT REPORTING:_

* Completion and submission of reports required by our Funders
quarterly and annually
* Oversight and management of budgets and expenditure for European
Erasmus project
* Preparation of financial information for management
* Preparation of budget, forecasts and cashflows for grant
applications.

_ASSISTING THE FINANCE TEAM WITH OTHER ACCOUNTING FUNCTIONS WHICH MAY
INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:_

* Processing supplier invoices and payments
* Generating invoices/statements
* Cheque processing and lodgements to the branch
* Adhering to deadlines
* Credit control
* Dealing with customer and supplier queries
* Data input
* Month end journal postings
* Bank reconciliations
* Debtor and creditor reconciliations
* Assisting with the preparation of month end accounts
* Assisting with preparation of budget, forecasts and cashflows
* Assisting with the preparation of year-end audit
* Preparation of financial information for management
* Filing of all documentation.

_OTHER_

* Working towards continuous improvement of the finance function
* At all times, undertaking the role in a professional and
confidential manner, maintaining a high-quality standard of work, in
accordance with the aims, values and ethos of Early Childhood Ireland.
* Undertaking any other such relevant duties as may arise from time
to time and are considered appropriate.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Each of the following requirements is essential, unless marked with a
*, when it is deemed a desirable attribute.

_SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:_

* Minimum three years? experience in Sage Micropay payroll
processing
* IPASS qualification
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite, particularly Excel, and a
strong general proficiency in IT systems
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Exchequer experience an advantage *

* A willingness to show flexibility on working hours, especially at
peak payroll times.
