The Intel Manufacturing & Operations Automation (M&OA) is seeking a
Systems Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team to design &
support different operating systems and hardware on prem or on cloud.
The System Engineer will be responsible for designing next-generation
Infrastructure architecture to support Fab and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*
Support and troubleshoot servers and storage on a need basis on prem
and in cloud.
*
In case of any escalation, contact OEM to get the required support.
*
Developing and executing project plans and continuous improvement
programs, and capacity planning.
*
Provide On-Call coverage for Infrastructure support in M&O factories
*
Provide high-level Infrastructure design recommendation for on Cloud
Servers (AWS & Azure) and on prem Storage (VSAN, NAS & SAN - NetApp,
HP and EMC) & Servers (HP) running Windows, VMware & Linux based on
the business needs.
*
Design highly available solution based on business requirements and do
a seamless update of patches and firmware.
*
Propose server and storage configuration to meet business needs and
follow purchasing process (Hardware configuration to component level,
design high availability).
*
Act as an escalation point (L3) and provide technical support for both
hardware and software issues encounter with On prem & On cloud
infrastructure.
*
Coordinate hardware landing and configuration followed by OS
installation, maintenance, configuration, troubleshoot and
monitoringEvaluate new hardware and software technologies as needed.
*
Deploy those technologies, manage support and transition to L2 for day
to day support
*
Server (physical/virtual & on prem / on cloud) installation and
storage allocation and management.Capacity planning and performance
management.Security Patching and communications.Backup
management.Documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
* Bachelor&#**Apply on the website**;s degree in Computer Science or
Electronics technology- related field of study with 7+ years of
relevant experience or a Master&#**Apply on the website**;s degree in
Computer Science or technology related field of study with 5+ years of
relevant experience in the following: Hardware (HPE servers, HPE,
NetApp & EMC Storage, VSAN) and OS (Linux, Windows & VMware) but not
limited to these technologies only (certification in these areas will
be an advantage).
* Shell scripting, backup technologies - snapshot, snapvault,
Netbackup, Veeam.
* Working knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, Samba & NIS.
* Cloud technologies (Azure & AWS).
* Networking and the terminology used in networking.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in more than one of the following areas will be ideal:
Operating System - Windows, Linux flavors, VMware.
* MCSE, RHCE or Vmware certification preferred.
