Chef / Cook with pastry experience

We are a new French style patisserie, bakery and cafe selling breads, quiches, pies, tarts as well as french dinner and lunch classics. We open in Jan 2013! What we want from you: Create wonderfully tasting food for our customers.Assist in designing an ever-changing menu. Place orders with suppliers for food, beverages and commodities. Ensure the SOPs for all dishes are implemented. Recommend procedural and profitability improvements. Delivery accuracy, quality, dating and correct temperature. Correct storage of food.Stock rotation and wastage procedures to be carried out. To prepare food for all outlets. Follow dish specifications and exercise portion control.Stocktaking /assist with stocktaking. Abide by all HACCP procedures and complete all HACCP documentation.To be flexible in your approach to working hours and rosters, weekend and split shift work is required.To assist in training and helping other staff.

Skills Requirements
Have at least 5 years experience in a busy English speaking kitchen. Be able to perform to a high standard under pressure. Be capable of running our small kitchen. Have a good knowledge of HACCP. Have a genuine passion for food and cooking and to be self motivated. Organisational skills and teamwork are vital.
