JOB PURPOSE

The Educational Psychologist will be responsible for the delivery of
assessment and intervention strategies to students across a variety of
age ranges and settings including primary, secondary, further and
higher education. They will assist students with Specific Learning
difficulties, Mental Health difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder,
Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder, Development Coordination
Disorder and other complex difficulties so they may engage in their
studies. The service applies a holistic approach and provides one on
one and group sessions to help students build their study,
organisational, social and psychological skills. The Educational
Psychologist will also liaise, collaborate and consult with academic
staff and other professionals

The Educational Psychologist will report to the Senior Educational
Psychologist. They will work with the team of other educational
psychologists, assistant psychologists and other staff members to
develop and enhance the services on different HEI campuses. The person
will provide guidance and supervision for a number of assistant
psychologists to ensure they can provide academic support and
evidence-based interventions for third level students

MINIMUM EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED

* Relevant professional qualification in Educational Psychology
* Chartered membership with the Psychological Society of
Ireland?_or_?Chartered membership of the British Psychological
Society or the European Association of Psychology desirable
* Relevant experience in the field of Educational and Psychology
* Experience working with a range of disabilities including Specific
Learning Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, Mental Health, Intellectual
disability
* Experience providing evidence-based assessment and interventions.
Experience in working with third level students in an educational
environment would be an advantage
* Knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of providing an
educational psychological service at third level
* Comprehensive knowledge of disabilities and their effects in
education
* Knowledge of the range of reasonable accommodations/adjustments
available and the appropriate use of such accommodations/adjustments

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work with and support the Senior Educational Psychologist and other
psychologists in the day to day running of the Rehab Group?s
Education Support Service across a number of different third level
campuses. Carry out educational psychological assessments across a
wide age range (including children and adults), and across a variety
of educational settings from mainstream primary, secondary and third
level to specialist education services
* Provide needs assessments of academic, social, and emotional needs
of third level students, and provide holistic, one-to-one academic,
social, emotional and daily living skills interventions using a
variety of psychological approaches
* Provide advice and training for third level staff on the needs of
students within the college environment, promoting a Universal Design
for Learning (UDL) approach
* Support and supervise a number of Assistant Psychologists on the
different HEI campuses to ensure they can provide academic support and
evidence-based interventions for third level students
* Liaise with other stakeholders involved with students accessing
our services as appropriate, these might include families,
professionals and external agencies, as appropriate and engage in
crisis management with students as required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* Must have a willingness to attend conferences and/or training
courses as required by the company and necessary in order to fulfil
CPD requirements
* Must have a willingness to present and deliver relevant
information at conferences and/or training courses as required by the
company
* Adherence to the Continuous Professional Development requirements
of the PSI
* Adherence to the Code of Professional Ethics of the Psychological
Society of Ireland (PSI)
* The ability to develop positive relationships both internally and
externally
* Travelling to other sites in Dublin and Kildare
