within the community. St John of God Liffey Services invites
applications for SOCIAL CARE WORKERS, STAFF NURSES and CARE ASSISTANTS
throughout our Services to provide support to individuals with an
intellectual disability.

SOCIAL CARE WORKERS

PERMANENT ? FULL TIME & RELIEF POSITIONS

SUITABLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A RECOGNISED QUALIFICATION AS
FOLLOWS:

* Minimum of QQI level 7 in Social Care / Applied Social Studies /
Social Care Studies.
* RNID qualification or other relevant healthcare qualification.

SUITABLE CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

* MINIMUM OF 1 YEARS? EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS WITH
AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY FOR SOCIAL CARE WORKER PERMANENT / FULL
TIME POSITIONS.
* Knowledge and understanding of HIQA Standards & other relevant
legislative requirements under the Health Act **Apply on the

* Proven track record in initiative, motivation and enthusiasm.
* Commitment to delivering service through a person centred/directed
approach.
* Show an understanding of meeting the health & social care needs of
residents in a community based setting.
* Programme Development / Skills Teaching.
* Risk Management/Risk Assessments experience desirable.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Flexible in all aspects of work and able to meet the demands of a

SUITABLE CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

* Successfully completed a relevant QQI certificate (formerly FETAC)
at level 5 with a minimum 8 modules completed.
* Experience in Residential Services in Intellectually Disability
sector desirable.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* A commitment to work with all residents who have varying support
needs and conditions to ensure they have full and meaningful lives.
* Demonstrate an ability to support residents in all aspects of
their lives, promoting their independence and personal development.
* An ability to be flexible in all aspects of work.
* Demonstrate a commitment to promoting the rights of people with
disabilities.
* Deliver safe and respectful person centred care and support to all
residents.
* An understanding of the values and ethos of the organisation and a
commitment to implementing these.
* FULL CLEAN MANUAL DRIVING LICENCE and willingness to drive as part
of role.

STAFF NURSES RESIDENTIAL & RESPITE SERVICES

PERMANENT FULL TIME

SUITABLE QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST:

* Be on the current register as maintained by NMBI and preferably
possess the RNID qualification &/or Paediatric qualification, and
demonstrate a full understanding of the needs of those with an
Intellectual Disability.
* Ensure own continuous professional development includes the most
up-to-date knowledge and best practice in the area of Intellectual
Disability for children and adults.
* Demonstrate a commitment to service delivery and accountability
through a person centred approach in a community based service
* Be committed to promoting and maximising independence and
community participation
* Experience as a registered nurse working with children &/or adults
with an intellectual disability, complex medical and support needs and
positive behaviour support
* Knowledge and understanding of HIQA regulations & any other
relevant legislative requirements under the Health Act **Apply on the

* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, a positive attitude
toward residents and be a highly motivated professional
* Have an understanding of the values and ethos of the organisation
and a vision and commitment to the implementation of these.
* Flexible and responsive in all aspects of work
* Full clean driving licence and willingness to drive service
vehicles
