POSITION AVAILABLE:

YOU ARE:

An experienced professional with a proven track record in all areas of
Environmental Health & Safety. You have the necessary skills to ensure
company compliance and continual improvement through the development
and implementation of quality systems, policies and procedures in line
with legislative requirements and best practice. You have excellent
communication, planning, organisational and negotiation skills as well
as familiarity with all stages of the building development process
from design through to delivery.

with intellectual and other disabilities. We aim to provide a holistic
service from birth to adulthood including Early Services, Residential
and Respite care, Adult Day Services and a wide range of Clinical

successful candidate will work as a member of the multidisciplinary
team and enjoy a high level of professional support.

JOB ROLE (NON-EXHAUSTIVE):

* Work with management, and staff on all health & safety matters.
Liaising with external agencies (eg. HSA, Fire Officer, Insurance
inspectors/auditors, etc.) as required.
* Responsible for company compliance and continual improvement in
Health & Safety through audit and review of management systems &
programmes.
* To conduct risk assessments and in-depth health and safety audits.
* Investigate, track & maintain records of accidents/incidents.
* Manage all building maintenance and essential works contracts for
all locations.
* Locate/negotiate acquisition of properties in line with the
objectives of SCA.
* Liaise with architects / surveyors / local authorities as required
during all stages of the development process.
* Initiate and oversee the tendering process to ensure that
contractual arrangements comply with statutory and organisational
requirements.
* Reporting to: Quality, Compliance and Training Manager.

ESSENTIAL:

* A Business Degree with an emphasis on the Construction Industry and
a relevant qualification in Health & Safety.
* A minimum of 3 year?s experience working within the Intellectual
Disability sector or in the wider social care / health care field.
* A minimum of one year?s experience and knowledge of working with
HIQA regulations and a proven ability to implement standards and
regulations.
* A minimum of three year?s experience of conducting risk
assessments and in-depth health and safety audits.
* Experience managing building maintenance and essential works
contracts.
* Experience in preparation and management of budgets.
* Excellent commercial negotiating skills.
* The ability to work on your own initiative, make decisions and
deal with multiple competing priorities.
* Excellent report writing and communication skills and a strong
technical ability to present work and achievements using a variety of
platforms in a concise manner.
* Hold a full clean driving license and car owner.

SALARY:

Grade 6 as per the HSE consolidated pay scale.
