The Dales Centre is a community organisation, set up in **Apply on the
website**, to address the problems of drugs use in the Dublin **Apply
on the website** and surrounding areas. The Dales works with
individuals and families from the Dublin **Apply on the website**
area, to assist them in addressing the issue of problematic drug and
alcohol use.

PROJECT WORKER **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HRS PER WEEK

We currently have a vacancy for a project worker **Apply on the
website** hrs per week. The successful candidate will work as part of
the team at the Dales Centre engaging with individuals affected by
problematic substance use. The role will consist of developing a case
load, providing one to one support, carrying out assessments, and
developing care plans. The successful candidate will also be involved
in the development and facilitation of our Activity Based Drop-in and
to provide Outreach duties in the community. Developing, implementing
and leading psycho educational groups is also a key part of the role.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

* Minimum of 3 years experience working with people affected by
substance misuse and addiction.
* NQF Level 7 in the area of addiction or related field, social
care, counselling, youth- work etc.
* Experience in undertaking assessments, developing care plans,
interagency working and case management within the NDRIC framework.
* PC Literate, must be able to demonstrate competent computer skills
* Knowledge and experience in developing and facilitating
educational and therapeutic groups
* Understanding of the complexities of addiction and the issues
related to drug misuse
* An understanding of related health issues, including mental health
and crisis intervention.
* Good working knowledge of harm reduction and how it applies to a
low threshold service.
* An understanding of the process of addiction and its relevance to
a client group with varying needs.
* Understanding of the wider needs of the community relevant to
alcohol, drugs and community issues
* Be highly motivated and able to work off their own initiative.

The successful candidate will be employed by The Dales Centre,
Darndale, Dublin **Apply on the website** on a **Apply on the
website**hr per week permanent contract, which is subject to ongoing
funding.
The Dales Centre is funded by the HSE and the Dublin North East Drug
and Alcohol Task Force.
