Dublin South City Partnership (DSCP) is a local development company
delivering the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme
(SICAP) and other programmes across a large area of Dublin?s south
city. As a part of this work DSCP wishes to recruit a SICAP COMMUNITY
PROJECT SUPPORT WORKER.

OVERALL PURPOSE

The Community Project Support Worker will be employed by Dublin South
City Partnership (DSCP) to work in the Bluebell area to deliver SICAP
and other activities in partnership with Bluebell CDP.

JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Register Local Community Groups (LCGS) and develop LCG support
plans
* To provide strategic and technical support to a number of named
organisations within the Bluebell area
* Maintain and record data as required for SICAP/IRIS
* Prepare reports and statistical information on work activities?
as required
* Attend staff and other meetings to progress work plans? as
required by DSCP/Bluebell CDP.
* Adhere to financial procedures and reporting requirements? as
designated by the Partnership

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

* To organise activities and provide support to existing projects /
initiatives and to initiate new projects and programmes as required
* To link and refer individuals to appropriate SICAP actions
* To provide ongoing development and outreach work with local groups
and members of the community.
* To develop relationships with relevant statutory and voluntary
organisations to assist with the development and delivery of SICAP
work
* Linking/Networking with other projects, organisations and agencies
as required
* To maximise community involvement within specific communities.
* Provide supports to community groups / organisations and
individuals to enable them to identify their needs, develop projects
and initiatives, achieve their strategic aims, attain resources and
influence policy.
* To identify opportunities for funding and support groups to apply
for same.
* Support and facilitate the networking of local community groups
with a view to sharing information, good practice, promoting
collective / collaborative strategic actions with relevant agencies
and organisations at local, regional and national levels.
* To promote the work through various channels including social
media
* To undertake any other tasks and duties to further develop the
work of SICAP.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Community Project Support Worker will be
directed as directed on a day to day basis by the Manager of Bluebell
CDP to and will be supported by the Community Development Manager

PERSON SPECIFICATION

_QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE_

ESSENTIAL

* A professionally endorsed qualification in Community Development or
relevant discipline
* A minimum of three years post qualification working in community
development setting
* Proven ability to network with community, voluntary and statutory
agencies.

DESIRABLE

* Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and project
development
* Experience of delivery of training in community development and
methodologies
* Experience in establishment/development/support of consultation
structures and community networks/fora
* Experience in CRM systems

* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and
sustain relationships with a wide variety of people and groups
* Proven facilitation and group work skills
* Leadership, organisational and networking skills
* Social analytical skills and strategic planning
* Budgeting skills and resource management
* Experience in writing funding proposals / securing funding
* Excellent IT skills
