KERRY PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION is a voluntary organisation
committed to the delivery of life enhancing services and supports,
responding to needs, wishes and choices of people with an intellectual
disability, connected to support networks in their communities.

WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION

POST: HOUSING OFFICER

CONTRACT: PERMANENT, FULL-TIME

LOCATION: OLD MONASTERY, PORT ROAD, KILLARNEY, CO. KERRY

?THE ROLE:

* To develop the Approved Housing Body (AHB) ensuring its future as a
viable entity for the procurement of housing.
* The Housing Officer will contribute to the Association?s
objective of providing high quality, affordable housing and property
management services to all stakeholders and will adopt and achieve the
highest standards of governance within the AHB, demonstrating sound
ethics and fostering confidence while working across all teams within
and external to KPFA.
* To provide a professional service, focused on cost effectiveness
and value for money for the residents/tenants.
* To? keep? abreast of current legislation and circulars relating
to Housing Management through various means e.g. Approved Housing Body
Regulatory Authority (AHBRA), Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH)
and the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB).
* To carry out all duties of the post in accordance with best
practice and all- relevant policies and procedures including the
Health & Safety Policy.
* This list is not exhaustive. It merely acts as a guide and may be
amended to meet the changing requirements of the Association.

?ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* A relevant professional qualification.
* Demonstrable experience in housing management or a role with
relevant transferable skills.
* Experience of delivering a person centred service.
* Experience of implementing policies and procedures and have an
excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
* Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to deal
with a wide ranging workload.
* Be competent and confident in the use of IT with the ability to
use Microsoft Office packages and software/database packages.
* Ability to network and represent KPFA at high level meetings.
* Be available for occasional evening work e.g. attendance at
resident meetings.
* Ability to research and report in a timely manner.
* A full drivers licence with access to a car insured for business
purposes.
