Animal Centre Manager
As a result of the ongoing development at the ISPCA, we are
recruiting for a full-time Animal Centre Manager to be based at the
National Animal Centre, Longford ??We have an exciting opportunity
for a full-time Centre Manager to join the ISPCA team at the National
Animal Centre, Derryglogher, Keenagh, Co. Longford. The Centre is
dedicated to the rehabilitation of mistreated and abused animals and
then finding them new loving homes.

The Centre Manager will be responsible for the management of staff and
animals at the Centre, whilst ensuring the highest welfare standards
of all animals in ISPCA care. The National Animal Centre cares for a
variety of species including dogs, cats, horses, ponies and donkeys
along with small animals, reptiles and wildlife.
Essential skills:
A minimum of 3 ? 5 years management experience running a Centre,
working with all animals, preferably in an animal welfare environment.
?Excellent communication skills and experience in line management of
staff and juggling multiple priorities.
Strong animal handling experience of all types of species.
A broad knowledge of animal welfare issues and legislation in Ireland.
Well-developed interpersonal skills with tact and diplomacy with the
ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff,
board members, external stakeholders and potential donors.
Ability to represent the ISPCA in the media, providing educational
tours and advice on responsible pet ownership.
Health and safety experience.
Experience of setting and managing budgets.
Excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills required.
A full clean driver?s licence is essential and experience towing a
horsebox ideal.
Education and Training:
A third level qualification in a related discipline is required.
Personal qualities:
Passion for animal welfare.
Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
Able to work under pressure and deal with any difficult situations.
