The successful candidate will be involved in New Product Introduction, Process Design as well as providing ongoing support to manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to join a dynamic organisation with significant focus on career development..
Participate in facility and process design of a multi-product biopharmaceutical manufacturing platform.
Support and participate in commissioning and start-up activities of the biotech facilities, unit operations and equipment.
Develop and predict processing strategies and throughputs for the various products for the site biotech business through the use of modelling tools.
Provide day-to-day bioprocess engineering support to upstream / downstream manufacturing operations.
Initiate facility and equipment upgrades to improve plant productivity and throughput.
Facilitate the introduction of new products with associated new unit operations and equipment and ensure the bio-processing at the site stays current with emerging processing and equipment innovations.
Requirements:
Min. Degree qualified ? Biochemical/Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience to include knowledge of either upstream or downstream biopharmaceutical unit operations as applied to bioreactor design and control, SIP/CIP, filtration, chromatography techniques etc.
Experience in either design or commissioning of a mammalian cell-based biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant and operations experience in cell culture, primary recovery, purification or related biotech manufacturing experience in an established biotech production environment.
A proven track record in your current role is essential.
Deep technical interest and understanding in the field of Chemical Engineering.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Creativity to identify improvement opportunities and the tenacity/initiative to see them implemented.
Guidance/mentoring of others through processes.
Flexibility to change.
Ability to network internally and externally to benchmark processes/systems.
