Senior Project Manager - NPI - Amgen

Our Client is Amgen and the role will be based in their Dun Laoghaire plant. The plant is one of the most dynamic in Ireland and is currently undergoing rapid expansion and capital investment.



Job Description:





Apply the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques of project management / operational excellence to ensure optimal execution of programs/projects and continuous improvement initiatives. 

Provide support to ABR Site in terms of training, facilitation and coaching of Operational Excellence. Expectations/scope/complexity Knowledge 

In-depth disciplinary knowledge; leverages business acumen and subject matter expertise - Contributes to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise 

In-depth understanding of company goals and competitor practices 

Thorough understanding of company business priorities, strategy and direction

Employs project management techniques Problem Solving 

Works on, and anticipates, abstract and complex problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables 

Develops innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis; - Opportunity/risk analyses - Cost/benefit analyses - Pricing models 

Integrates trends, data and information into plans, deliverables and recommendations (e.g. sales plans) 

Develops methods and techniques based on project objectives Autonomy 

Work is guided by business plans for the discipline. - Actively participates in setting function/department objectives to meet plans 

Manages key projects or business processes. - Guides completion of major projects Contribution 

Contributes to the function/department through responsibility for delivery of end results and contribution to planning for the department/unit 

Uses strong relationships to identify requirements and potential opportunities 

Provides thought leadership, guidance and advice in own field Works with resource managers from across the organisation to effectively obtain and allocate resources to complete programs and projects on time Position Specific Tasks Business office/Strategy 

May participate in the strategy development of the site Project Portfolio Management 

Support portfolio management of the initiatives governed by the ADL Project Review Meeting. 

This includes project prioritization, resources management, status management and external communication. 

Project Management Manages complex (larger, interdisciplinary or site wide) projects/initiatives. 

 

This includes: 

Arrange agreement among the project team, customers, and management on the goals of the project 

Develop a plan that addresses quality, objective, scope, cost, schedule, resources and responsibilities - to organize the project, and measure progress against schedule and budget 

Effectively communicate with everyone involved in the project 

Have a controlled scope in place, that is understood by all stakeholders and maintained throughout completion of the project 

Execute prudent risk and issue management. Have a controlled scope in place, that is understood by all stakeholders. Owns the change control if applicable. 

Guide project champion and sponsor toward timely decisions that keep the project moving 

Motivate, support and direct project team members, and inspire teamwork Operational Excellence 

Supports the ADL Site in terms of training, facilitation and coaching of Project Management and Operational Excellence skills. 

Systems / Equipment: MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, Change Control & Document Management Systems 

 



Requirements



The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge or the equivalent. 


Pharma experience, in particular sterile/GMP/Tech Transfer/NPI experience along with project management. 

At least 3yrs PM experience & 5-10 years in an engineering/pharma environment.


Minimum Requirements 

Bachelorss degree (Engineering, Science or Economics) 

5-8 years experience as Project manager in an International, Pharmaceutical or Supply Chain Environment 

Strong MS Office Skills, in particular Microsoft Project (candidate must have previous experience of MS Project)

Basic knowledge of Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Packaging, and Operational Excellence 

Preferred Requirements 

Project management certification PMP, IPMA C, Prince 2 Practitioner 

Six Sigma Black Belt or similar certification


 
Package:

Minimum 6 month contract

Rate: €60 - €70 per hour
