ASSISTANT PSYCHOLOGIST - CLARECASTLE (FIXED TERM, FULL TIME **APPLY ON

ABI IRELAND ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR AN?ASSISTANT
PSYCHOLOGIST?IN CHO3. THE POSITION IS A?FIXED TERM CONTRACT (1
YEAR).

Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides community-based residential
rehabilitation services for people living with a brain injury in
mission is to serve, advocate, empower and support people impacted bu
brain injury to rebuild their lives!

The Assistant Psychologist provides psychological support to Acquired
Brain Injury Ireland (ABII) clients, and aids clients in the
development of a range of cognitive strategies and skills that will
enable them to better negotiate everyday life after acquiring a brain
injury.

The post will be based primarliy in our neuro-residential settings in
Co. Clare and Co. Limerick, with part of the week based in our
Mid-West Community Services.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the
cometition:
(i) Have a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited
qualification at not less than a Level 8 at 2.1 honours grade on the
QQI qualifications framework in which psychology was a major subject.
Or
(ii) A Level 8 honours degree in another subject (2.1 or higher)
together with an accredited conversion qualification at a minimum of
(2.1) as conferring eligibility for graduate membership of the
Psychological Society of Ireland.
Or
(iii) A qualification equivalent to the above accredited by the
British Psychological Society for graduate membership of the British
Psychological Society.
And
(b) a Master?s degree in a relevant area of psychology (completed by
time of closing ate of the competition).
(c) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability,
including a

* High standard of suitability and administrative ability, for the
proper discharge of the duties of the office.
* Equivalent of 2 years full-time post-qualification experience of
working with adults with psychological needs, or children, or people
with disabilities.
* Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, report writing
and presentation.
* Able to demonstrate good attention to details, good judgement
showing logical decision making and a hands-on approach.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Ability to operate autonomously within the boundaries of the role.
* Excellent MS Office skills with advanced spreadsheet skills.
* An ability to manage conflict and problem solve.
* Ability to work across multiple locations during the working week.
