PURPOSE OF ROLE: The role of the Residential Social Care Worker is to
provide frontline care of young people, including those with
behavioural difficulties, in a secure care setting.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To participate in the development and implementation of
Care/Placement plans and to ensure appropriate recording of same.
* To promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/service
user or vulnerable adult.
* To encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and
clinical appointments.
* To liaise with the parent, family, general services, and other
agencies on behalf of the service user.
* To work as a member of a team.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, QUALIFICATIONS AND /EXPERIENCE:

* A Level 7/8 qualification in Social Care or a relevant field i.e.
Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Youth and Community
Work, Social Work, Social Sciences.
* Previous experience working with and supporting service users with
challenging behaviour and mental health
* Working knowledge of regulatory compliance and HIQA standards
* Experience/knowledge of report writing and client support plans
* Full Clean Driver?s Licence (will be seen as an advantage)
* ?Permission to work in the Republic of Ireland

THE FOLLOWING WILL BE SEEN AS AN ADVANTAGE:

* ?Full clean driver?s license
