ROLE PROFILE

To manage the design, development and co-ordination of the project
under the direction of the Recovery College Chairperson and in
partnership with staff of the College and the Recovery Academy.

The post holder will work with the steering group and key stakeholders
in ensuring the project comes to fruition and a final evaluation
report completed and report to Liam MacGabhann. We welcome individuals
who have personal experience with mental health issues and/or
substance use.

THE PROJECT

The proposed project aims to enhance the community capacity in North
East Inner City Dublin to respond to dual diagnosis, through a number
of specific objectives:

* Establish an open dialogue community forum, comprising all
stakeholders that have a vested interest or are effected by dual
diagnosis in the community

* Stakeholders will include people with experience, family members,
statutory services, community services, ancillary services,
peripherally involved services
* The community forum will provide the vehicle (as a participatory
network) for action orientated activities and engagement between
stakeholders;

* Establish rules of engagement between stakeholders, underpinned by
an ecological view of trauma in personal and community contexts;

* Explore existing capacity for service providers to respond to dual
diagnosis and what they need to develop, so that they can enhance
capacity

* This will include further training, personal and practice
development and inter agency capacity;

* Develop an integrated care pathway within the community for people
who are effected be dual diagnosis;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

* Candidates must have a primary degree or equivalent (NFQ Level 7)
in a health, social or community related field and relevant equivalent
work experience, or a combination of study and work experience
* A background in community development work and working with
diverse community organisations in the voluntary and statutory sector
of two years.
* Experience in facilitating community groups, capacity building
workshops, social resource mapping and creative approaches to
fostering community connection

DESIRABLE

* Extensive knowledge of and commitment to recovery principles and
models of community participation including experience working in
project coordinator role with a goodunderstanding of the needs of
people with mental health and substance use difficulties and ability
to foster self-determination and self-care
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly
developed negotiation and influencing skills and ability to develop
and maintain effective working relationships with senior management
and other stakeholders including clinicians, service users, family
members and community workers
* Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills
including the ability to provide authoritative advice and
recommendations at strategic and service levels
* Ideally the post holder will have an undergraduate or Master?s
degree in a relevant subject area to mental health, substance use and
or community development
* A demonstrable commitment to the integration of professional,
family member and service user agendas experience/expertise in,
research community and service development across a range of borders
? professional/non-statutory; professional/service user,
disciplines, etc.
* Ideally a minimum 2 years of project management experience and
skills
* Awareness of and commitment to all aspects of anti-discriminatory
practice

ESSENTIAL TRAINING

The post holder will be required to undertake the following essential
compliance training: Orientation, Health & Safety and Data Protection
(GDPR). Other training may need to be undertaken when required.
