CENTRE MANAGER

Located in Tullamore, Offaly Volunteer Centre is being set up to
promote volunteering and civic participation in Co. Offaly with a
focus on developing a high-quality Volunteer Centre to serve
volunteers and community and voluntary sector groups.

Reporting to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors the centre
Manager will be responsible for the set-up, development and ongoing
management of the centre and will focus on promoting volunteering and
civic participation across the whole community of county Offaly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role involves developing and managing the delivery of the service,
managing the staff of the centre and managing the future development
of Offaly Volunteer Centre, working under the guidance of the Board.
Existing knowledge of the community and voluntary sector in Offaly as
well as knowledge of the voluntary and statutory sector would be a
decided advantage. The role also requires involvement with the
national work of the Volunteer Ireland/Volunteer Centres/Volunteer
Information Services network by participating in working groups,
attending national meetings, and promoting national projects, as
appropriate.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

_SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:_

* Essential: A minimum of 3 years Management/Project Management
experience in a similar or related field, which includes paid staff
management experience.
* A relevant third level qualification.
* Experience of planning and managing budgets.
* Experience of developing and implementing strategic plans/work
plans.
* Commitment to the concept of volunteering and objectives of the
post
* Knowledge of current best practice in volunteer management.
* Ability to work with a very wide range of individuals and
organisations, including the ability to assess their needs clearly and
work with them to achieve those goals.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to inform, motivate and support individuals and
organisations.
* Good general administration skills and computer skills including
Salesforce, Office **Apply on the website**, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
and internet database packages.
* A full clean driving licence and access to a car for work
purposes.
* Ability to work from home with good internet connection
* Awareness of Equal Opportunities Desirable
* Experience/qualifications in delivering training, particularly on
Volunteer Management topics.
* Experience of volunteering
* Event management experience.

HOURS OF WORK: **Apply on the website**.5 hours per week, with
flexibility to carry out work out of office hours and at weekends
where necessary.

PLACE OF WORK: Offices of Offaly Volunteer Centre. Full driving
licence as some travel will be required.

SALARY: Depending on experience and suitability of successful
candidate.
