We are looking to recruit a Staff Grade Psychologist who has a passion
for, and a commitment to working with adults with intellectual
disabilities and/or Autism. We are seeking an individual who is
comfortable to work within and outside of traditional
?assessment-intervention? paradigms and who can appreciate an
evolving role for the psychologist in assisting individuals, and their
supporters, in realising ambitious life visions. As an organisation we
espouse a radical commitment to person centred values and we wish to
recruit an individual who will drive the move towards
individualisation of service supports. The Staff Grade Psychologist
will join a cross-regional team of **Apply on the website**
psychologists and behaviour therapists, and will work alongside and
under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychology Manager.
The office base for this position will be at Muir?osa Foundation
headquarters at Moore Abbey in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* An Honours Primary Degree in Psychology;
* Post-graduate professional qualification in Clinical, Counselling
or Educational psychology, accredited by the Psychological Society of
Ireland or equivalent;
* Candidates who qualified outside of Ireland will be asked to
demonstrate validation of their professional qualification by the
Department of Health and Children;
* Relevant post-graduate supervised experience in the provision of
psychological supports to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or
Autism;
* A proven record of research skills;
* Chartered status as a Clinical, Counselling or Educational
Psychologist with the Psychological Society or Ireland, or working
towards same;
* Full driving licence;

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

* Proficiency in screening, assessment, formulation and diagnosis of
dementia amongst people with intellectual disabilities;
* Experience and knowledge of evidence based approaches to
supporting psychological well-being among people with intellectual
disabilities and/or Autism;
* Interest and experience of supporting individuals who display
emotional distress through high risk behaviours of concern, through
direct work with the individual, and indirect work with families and
staff teams;
* A radical acceptance of neurodiversity affirmative approaches.
