COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

BACKGROUND:

Active Retirement Ireland (ARI) is a voluntary organisation for older
people with a national membership of over **Apply on the

currently organised into nine regional councils, the movement?s
principal aim is to help men and women, who are retired or
semi-retired, from paid or unpaid work, to lead a full, happy and
healthy retirement by offering organised opportunities for a wide
range of activities ? holidays, outings and socials; creative and
learning programmes; indoor and outdoor sports and community work.

website**+ years and cover a range of socio-economic backgrounds.

ARI promotes an independent attitude to ageing and challenges
attitudes and perceptions of older people ? in this rewarding role
you will have the opportunity to work with a very active and vocal
membership of older people.

THE ROLE:

The Communications Officer will play a pivotal role within the
organisation, contributing to the development and delivery of
communications strategies across a range of PR, media and lobbying
activities as well as the wider stakeholder engagements of the
organisation.

* Develop an ongoing brand management strategy to ensure ARI brand
identity is adhered to online and all legal requirements are met,
while working towards accessibility and consistency in all content
across a range of devices, communications and documents.
* Monitor and assess of media coverage and conduct associated
research and support the ongoing development of the organisation?s
website, including the development of new content and design.
* Support the CEO to carry out the public affairs activities of the
organisation in terms of engaging with government officials, public
representatives, and other key stakeholders.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

* 3rd level qualification in a relevant field
* At least 2 year?s previous experience working in a
communications and media or advocacy role and demonstrable experience
in the Irish political system
* Be an exceptional communicator who thrives on working to reach
targets and effect change
* As this role could largely be based from home, you will have
demonstrable administrative experience and proven organisational
skills with the ability to manage your own workload.

work ethic who can juggle multiple tasks and deadlines whilst paying
close attention to detail, then this could be the role for you!
