Our Client is Amgen and the role will be based in their Dun Laoghaire plant. The plant is one of the most dynamic in Ireland and is currently undergoing rapid expansion and capital investment.
Job Description:
This position resides in the Pharmaceutical Development Team responsible for preformulation, formulation, scale up and technical transfers of inhalation formulations.
Responsibilities include:
Act as lead Technical Specialist in the development of Inhalation Formulations working across technical teams globally.
Process development of robust manufacturing processes employing QbD principles.
Project management of internal and external projects to ensure project milestones are met. Participation in Global Project Teams.
Application of statistics to analyse data and make robust conclusions to drive technical decisions
Application of material characterisation in formulation development and in solving technical issues
Pioneer solutions to challenging problems
Identify opportunities for new technology and contributing to intellectual property.
Compilation of scientific protocols and reports.
Mentor and develop team members.
Requirements
PhD/Masters in Science discipline
5 - 10 years experience in R&D scientific formulation / development environment.
Experience:
Proven track record in the development of complex formulations.
Experience in the development of inhalation formulations desired but not essential
Knowledge of materials science a distinct advantage.
Proficient in Quality by design (QbD)
Strong statistics/mathematics skills and problem solving ability.
Practical experience in project management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Package:
Permanent fiulltime position
Salary €75 - 85k dependant on experience
Annual leave = 21 days per annum
Performance bonus of up to 8% of salary
Private medical insurance, self only
Pension – defined benefit
