The Community Foundation for Ireland: Expression of Interest - Freelance Grant Assessors


1. PURPOSE

The role of the assessors panel will be to provide ad hoc external
assessment of grant rounds for the Community Foundation for Ireland in
line with our vision of building strong, resilient, and inclusive
communities.

2.CONTEXT

This is an exciting and important role in the Foundation. The
organisation has experienced rapid growth and we are therefore seeking
external support to help us with grant assessment on a number of our
larger grant rounds.

3.TERM

The freelance assessors will be engaged from September **Apply on the

of December **Apply on the website**. Panel members may elect not to
participate in certain grant rounds based on their availability. Panel
members may not be eligible to assess all rounds depending on
conflicts of interest.

4. MEMBERS

APOINTMENT OF MEMBERS

The Community Foundation will appoint members of the panel based on
their merit, skills and experience. We are looking for between 6 and 8
grant assessors to carry out the work on a work from home basis with
some requirement to attend meetings at the Foundation, restrictions
permitting. Panel members will be able to work to their own schedule
outside of meetings and training.

Panel members will have

* Broad experience in the community and voluntary sector
* Extensive knowledge of the community and voluntary sector in
Ireland
* High level communication skills in English
* Competence in recording data and record keeping on an online
platform
* Some experience of assessing is desirable

MEMBERS

The panel will consist of 6 - 8 members recruited & trained by the
Community Foundation

5. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PANEL ASSESSORS ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

* Indicating availability when asked in advance of each grant round.
* Attending training in advance of the panel formation and as needed
before each assessment round.
* Assessing applications within the assessment timeframe and
according to our vision and assessment guidelines.
* Producing assessment summaries and recommendations
* Recording data in our online system in accordance with guidelines
and training.
* Attending scoring meetings during the assessment timeframe and
other meetings as needed.
* Being reasonably available to answer queries during the assessment
period
* Declaring all conflicts of interests.
* Signing our confidentiality agreement.

MEMBERS OF THE ASSESSORS PANEL CAN EXPECT:

* That each member will be provided with complete, accurate and clear
information in a timely manner
* Will be given reasonable notice of upcoming assessment rounds
* To be given reasonable time to do the assessments
* Timely support and guidance from the Community Foundation
* Appropriate training

5.REMUNERATION

Payment will be at a rate of ?**Apply on the website** per day (7
hours) or ?**Apply on the website** per half day (3.5 hours)
