Global Action Plan (GAP) is an environmental education charity that
inspires, enables and supports people to take practical steps towards
a greener lifestyle.
Delivering high profile projects with regional, national and
international partners, we form part of the Global Action Plan
International network.

FREELANCE ENVIRONMENTAL / GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION FACILITATORS

ROLE: Global Action Plan Ireland is currently recruiting for a panel
of Freelance Facilitators to respond to the growing demand for our
programmes and workshops. The facilitator will deliver pre-planned
environmental education and skills workshops to a broad audience, in
primary and secondary school, business, and adult and community
education settings. Themes will include, but are not limited to,
Global Citizenship Education, Waste, Climate Action and Biodiversity.
This role reports directly to the CEO, or to a member of staff
appointed by the CEO.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

* Minimum 3 years experience in delivering education and skills
outreach programmes focusing on the environment or on global
citizenship.
* Experience of working in a learner-centred education environment.
* The ability to deliver an appropriate learning environment for
children, young people, or adults.
* Excellent communication, training and facilitation skills.
* An understanding of the importance of record-keeping and
administration practices.
* Strong organisational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and
a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
* A full, clean driving licence and access to own transport.
* Awareness of health and safety issues concerning the delivery of
educational workshops and programmes in a variety of settings (e.g.
outdoor).
* Strong awareness and knowledge of child protection legislation and
responsibilities.
* Availability and commitment to attend occasional in-service
training.
* Eligibility for Garda clearance *ESSENTIAL*
* Personal liability insurance and tax clearance certification

CANDIDATES WOULD IDEALLY ALSO DEMONSTRATE:

* Experience of delivering CPD training for teachers.
* Competency in Irish.
* Experience working and delivering workshops in outdoor settings.
* A third-level qualification in education, or in environmental
science, sustainability, or another relevant area.
