THE BALLYMUN JOB CENTRE IS RECRUITING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION:

JOB CLUB LEADER (SHORT-TERM CONTRACT)

THE ORGANISATION ? Established in **Apply on the website** the
Ballymun Job Centre Co-operative (BJC) is a local community focused,
people centred, placement, career guidance and training organisation.
Based on a culture of excellence and innovation, the BJC provides a
range of services and programmes supported by local, national and
European organisations.

Job Club - Funded by Department of Social Protection (DSP) Job Clubs
provide training to assist participants who are ready for work, to
develop skills, which they can use to find a job. This active,
practical and participative process takes place under the guidance and
supervision of the Job Club Leader. The aim of the Job Club is to
enable people to plan, actively seek and achieve realistic work
opportunities.

THE ROLE OF THE JOB CLUB LEADER ? The role of the Job Club Leader
involves motivating and supporting participants to access employment
by delivering formal sessions on job seeking skills and by the
provision of one to one support. The Leader will develop the Job Club
in line with the DSP operational guidelines. The Job Club Leader will
be responsible for the maintenance of participant records and will
provide progress reports on activities to DSP as required. The Leader
will work closely with the DSP and LESN in the referral of clients.

THE PERSON ? the ideal person will have experience of recruiting and
engaging the target group. The person should have the skills and
experience to provide practical and personal support for participants
on an individual and group basis. The person should have a good
knowledge of the local business community and job opportunities as
well as community and state agencies. He or she should be
self-motivated with the capacity to work within a team and have
excellent administration, interpersonal and communication skills. The
job demands a performance-oriented individual who defines targets and
results from both the qualitative and quantitative angle and can
influence others.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT - This is a short-term contract and will end on

line with BJC policy.
