COMMUNITY PROJECT WORKER

PERMANENT ? PART-TIME (**APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS PER WEEK)

The Crann Support Group (CRANN) on behalf of Meath Community Drug and
Alcohol Response (MCDAR), are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and
motivated Community Project Worker. MCDAR is a Community Project
providing a range of services to individuals and families experiencing
difficulties with addiction.

ROLE ? REPORTING TO THE PROJECT MANAGER

The Community Project Worker will be working with the Project team, to
support the implementation of best practice in the delivery of its
service to its service users.

SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

* To work as a team member in order to fulfil the aims and objectives
of the organisation
* To support the delivery of services for individuals with an
alcohol and/or substance misuse issue
* To develop support services for alcohol/substance misuse
* To build effective links with other professional organisations in
the area
* To facilitate, in a professional, objective and respectful manner,
referrals, assessments and care plans for individuals accessing the
service
* To fully engage in the work of the team and to take up training
opportunities offered by the project when appropriate
* To assist in the formation, development and co-ordination of a
comprehensive service
* To attend and participate in the weekly team meetings
* Such other appropriate and relevant tasks as may be required by
the Project Co-ordinator.

written
* Ability to work on own initiative.

_TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES_

* Demonstrated experience in area of addiction
* Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
* Ability to manage multiple and conflicting demands
* To have excellent report writing and record keeping skills.

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 3 years work experience in the addiction area is
essential

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A relevant 3rd Level Qualifications (QQI ? Addiction Studies /
Social Work)
