KEY RELATIONSHIPS WITH: CEO, Head of Experience and Development, Head
of Learning

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the development of
educational video and digital content production across our learning
platform. We have a committed and energetic team with an established
standard of good practice in delivering flexible, personalised and
innovative online learning programmes. If you understand the value of
innovative approaches to engaging young people in learning, this is a

learning environment for iScoil students and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Instructional Designer has responsibility for the following
aspects of iScoil:

* The design and development of high quality interactive teaching
materials on our learning platform
* Collaborate with Tutors and Head of Learning to establish student
needs and educational requirements
* Collaborate with the Head of Experience and Development in
relation to design, UX approach and system constraints
* Develop guides to support the team to maintain and update content
* Ensure content is developed and maintained in accordance with
educational, industry and organisational standards in terms of design,
accessibility, usability, editorial accuracy, and efficacy
* Review, evaluate and implement new video or interactive content
that can improve learning, teaching, and efficiency
* Communicate plans and progress reports and key milestones to
management and employees
* With the iScoil team to identify areas for innovation and
development
* Provide user training, troubleshooting and technical support to
team members if necessary
* Participate in team meetings.

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

* Video and engaging digital content development
* Instructional design background with UX and digital media
experience
* A third level qualification in instructional design/learning
technology/digital media creation or related
* An understanding of educational approaches and universal design
for learning in a digital context to support learners
* Excellent design and technical experience employing digital
solutions in an educational context
* Strong interpersonal communication, planning, project management
and organisational skills
* Ability to be self directed and manage workload in a team
environment
* Ability to break down and communicate technical challenges or
solutions to non-technical users and stakeholders
* Ability to build/maintain relationships with stakeholders/key
partners and represent iScoil in a professional manner
* Ability to be flexible and respond to change and new initiatives
as the need arises

TECHNICAL SKILLS

* Working knowledge and experience with Moodle and it?s content
modules e.g. quizzes, assignments, H5P, etc.
* Experience with design, development, content creation, audio and
video editing tools e.g Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, etc.
* Experience with instructional content development tools e.g
H5P/Articulate/iSpring desirable.
* Strong IT knowledge

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CONTRACT: This role is a fixed-term two year contract. The appointment
is subject to Garda Vetting and reference checks.

LOCATION: This is a hybrid role with half the time based at iScoil?s
office in Acorn Centre, Blackpitts, Dublin 8.
